10 levels and no stronger than the end of BFA

I’m weaker, like noticeably even in old content. This is absurd. Whose idiotic idea was this?

Totally agree, it literally makes all that time and effort of levelling and gearing up a total waste of our time. Its the opposite of what WoW used to be

I bet $20 that it wasn’t planned.

The level squished messed up legacy content. They could fix it - OR - they could do nothing and just claim it’s “working as intended”.

It’s not a bug, it’s a feature!

May I suggest Bobby K and all the others maximizing shareholder value instead of value for customers. Give credit or blame where it’s due and all that.

Funny considering when we brought this up on the Ptr and the Pre-Patch nobody really cared. Wait til 60, wait til you get the raid gear… lol

Yeah … they definitely need to work on scaling. It is sad when I am 10 levels above Bloodmaw and it takes me longer to kill him than it did when I was in BFA blues while it was current content. I am not usually the one to fuss, but there is absolutely no reason I should be able to kill a Shadowlands 60 elite faster than a level 50 WQ mob in BFA

They will not care until they are made to care. /unsub and let the investors call happen. They will get TOLD to fix it and then finally will. Ion and most of these devs DO NOT CARE what you think or want. If that has not been clear then I don’t know what to say to you.

The only things a lawyer understands is money, and when the higer ups call because they are losing money, he will be forced to do his damn job.

If that is the plan, they thought it our poorly, because instead, we just leave. I killed my sub and deleted the WoW directory. I might come back if they fix it.

My suspicion about the reasoning is that they were told that if new content participation does not increase, they will have their budget cut, so they are trying to force us to do their new content.

Product Management falls under Development. When people say “the devs”, they don’t specifically mean Joe Codemonkey.

I’m a new WoW player. I came over from SWTOR about a month ago. There wasn’t much to do in that game and few content improvements (some gamebreaking actually). I looked forward to enjoying my WoW subscription because it has massive lore and a large playerbase.

I was excited to be able to solo old instances in this game once I got to high enough level. Now, I find that the combat is more of a slog in BFA than it was when I was level 45 even though I have a level 59 druid. For as long as this power reduction continues I cannot see myself renewing my subscription past the 3 months I subbed. This is sad for me because WoW has a lot going for it lorewise. It has been much more fun for me up until the 50+ level.

Don’t like the sense of “progression” others have been talking about concerning these threads? I mean, getting busted by something 10 level below you must somehow endow you with satisfaction.

Yeah me neither.

you would think they would have anticipated this with the squish. Being able to do old content is a good thing. It’s good for the game, good for Blizzard. It’s another way to keep people busy and playing. It should be encouraged, not stifled.

I don’t expect to be soloing BFA raids but I’d like to at least be stronger than I was at 50. I think that’s all we expect. I know as we gear and patches release it’ll change, but it’s a bit concerning. I liked it just how it was, I feel our ability to go do previous content may be more limited going forward.

If they fix this item level scaling that will take care of the problem. But they don’t seem interested in doing so.

If you want a fun game that lets you get stronger you could try Elder Scrolls Online. It’s quite fun.

If “I” am quitting, this game has a problem. I have lived inside this game for almost 10 years. The power they took from us is too much.

Bumping this, it has now been a month, there has been ZERO communication from blizzard and people are growing tired of waiting.

Thought I’d offer some of my observations, as to what I’m seeing. My main is 59 now, inching up on 60, and around 122 ilvl (no clue why armory is so far behind). Doing the daily emissary, dailies in Nazjatar, and dailies in Mechagon…I feel somewhat stronger. I’m definitely killing things faster, but not as much faster as I’d expect…though my ilvl has not really grown that much from BFA (in fact, I think you can get close to 120 in high end BFA gear).

One thing that HAS improved is my survivability. My other shaman (similar to this character, but alliance, and still 50, and around 85 ilvl) struggles against elites in Mechagon. I can kill them, but I have to blow cooldowns and do a lot of self healing. This character…I can take 2 or 3 of them, and not have to heal very much at all, and take them down faster.

I have not yet seen any mobs scaling past 50. I’ll keep observing…I have a decent amount of rep to grind in Nazjatar and Mechagon until I finish off Pathfinder. I’ll see if it gets better once I start getting better 60 gear.

What a narcissist…but then, WE’RE the ones who keep paying for these mistakes so where is the incentive to ever fix them?

I mean, I just had heroic Nzoth gear and SL gear at 60 STILL isn’t better…But because the item level is artificially higher, mobs just got harder for no reason. That’s no backwards, it’s literally inside out to how it should be! If there’s no sense of progression then levels have no purpose in the game. And hey, cool extortion blizz: If I want to do dungeon content I HAVE to accept the garbage “new” gear because they’re locked behind IL. And people complain about Raider IO!

Somewhere along the line these people forgot that a game is about incentivizing game play.

Think its time for ion to step down.
