There are two possibilities that I could think of, could anyone clarify? This is a MMO, it appears that we are not allowed to talk at all, I have tried my best not to talk, not to be involved, not to use any profanities etc etc, walking on egg shells. The game’s policy itself has created a toxic environment for the players that ppl are reporting all over the place just to “get you”.
calling out ppl win trading/intentionally throwing the game in bg blitz.
defending myself against a toxic hunter player in bg blitz because he was belittling me for having lower rating than him. he even ran a profile check on me just to talk more crap and vent his frustration.
If this happened in a text chat channel using equally-toxic language in return, then this absolutely could be why.
Two wrongs don’t make a right. Report the offending chat lines and put them on ignore, wipe your hands and be done with it.
If your intent was to be as foul-mouthed as possible, absolutely. Apparently your best was not good enough.
See above. Reports go absolutely nowhere if the things you said were not legitimate enough to earn a strike on your account, and since this is a suspension it isn’t your first violation.
The game’s policy is the same as it was back in 2004. Accessibility in reporting the malcontents is what’s gotten easier over time.
nah, my account was suspended for a week for calling an evoker “stupid dragon” not long ago, this time it is recent events, I only bother to talk in rated bgs since I am trying to push ratings.
This thread isn’t really needed as we’re not allowed to just guess at what got someone in hot water. This isn’t what the CS, nor the rest of the forums, is for.
we are allowed to post under “customer support” when we have questions that need to be clarified, I am already very careful, this game is just pushing players away when the numbers are already down. Or this forum can just ban me too, you know you know… say no more.
That doesn’t fall under “What chat got me action” guessing game. If you have some reasonable idea what got you action, then you should learn from it. We’re not going to guess with you on the matter.
You are allowed to talk as much as you want. What you are not allowed to do is break the rules while chatting.
On the contrary, the rules are trying to prevent a toxic environment that was allowed to fester for many years. (To be clear, the rules were always in place, but it’s easier to report toxic behavior now, and they punish is much more severely.)
Not allowed. It’s toxic, especially with the colorful language that generally surrounds such “callouts”.
Allowed, but the toxic language that generally surrounds such “defenses” is not allowed. Report toxic players and move on.
This is toxicity. Not allowed.
Sure, but I suspect you don’t have questions. You simply want to complain that you keep getting punished for breaking the rules.
you are assuming that I used “colorful” language when I am calling out the win trading person that just stand still when the gate open, fault accusation, also NOT ALLOWED, where is your punishment for harassing me on the forum? we are not allowed to express ourselves without profanity in game, we are not allowed to ask questions on the forum without ppl like you that say nothing useful but throwing OP under the bus without a thread of evidence, are you allowed?
Not especially productive and usually better just to use the reporting system if you suspect someone is violating policy.
If by “defending myself” you mean using disparaging names towards another user? That someone else may have been belittling you in turn doesn’t justify the action nor protect you from the consequences.
Again, you should really just use the reporting option if you feel someone else is violation the in-game Code of Conduct.
I don’t know if it is the situation you are describing, Tuytdyt, but from what I can see one of the causes would be using disparaging terminology towards another that is used to belittle a person’s intelligence and capabilities.
You are welcome to appeal that decision, but it doesn’t appear to be an error.
I suspect we’re about to find out differently. But even so, if you were actioned for it, then you broke the rules whether you like it or not.
Stop “calling out players”. Thats contributing to a toxic environment.
Not agreeing with your post is not “harassment”. Don’t post on a public forum if you don’t like the responses. Much like, don’t fill chat with toxicity if you don’t like the punishment.
he was announcing my ratings in chat, questioning my ability to play the game, I reported him too, did he get actioned? you can see the chat, he came at me first.
That I wouldn’t be able to tell you even if I knew. Account penalties are between us and the person on the account - unless they decide to bring it to the forums and ask about it.
That isn’t exactly how it works. The right click report option provides the specific line of chat that was clicked on, as well as a few lines in either direction. We don’t review all chat within a given time frame and the context of that chat is rarely of consequence.
If chat is reported, it is the chat that is reported that is verified to either contain inappropriate and/or toxic chat/behavior or not. If it doesn’t, nothing happens. If it does, then a penalty is applied based on the history on the account.
this hunter came out of his way to check my profile, announcing it in public chat during our bg blits, telling the team cuz my rating is lower I can’t kill anything, he pressed me and sat on my face out of nowhere, I didn’t know I have to right click on the lines he was attacking me, I simply right clicked his name afterwards.
Doesn’t matter what you say or what you believe happened. Blizzard see the chat lines and what was said. If there was something breaking the rules, they’d action the person. It doesn’t matter who started, or why. The only fact that matters if someone broke the rules or not. Everything else can fall by the wayside.
