1 Button Rotation And What It Equates To

It will be interesting to see what happens.

I just tested in on PTR. You could literally bot any spot that has mobs that “attack” a certain area, you don’t even have to target. You can turn on auto targetting, it will target the nearest mob for you.

All you have to do is loot once every 10-30mins. This is done by hitting a single button.

Bots are going to abuse it.

That said, bots already bot, so it probably changes nothing, but make it easier for people to bot.

All Blizz did was add GSE baseline into the game. Which is just cast sequence macros on a button you have to press over and over again. It’s got a penalty on the GCD to make a little longer, thereby not making it some one button “I WIN” thing. And GSE is often used by people with disabilities or casual open world players who just focus on the story and world more than rotations.

GSE has 8.4 million downloads, for a bit of context as to why they did this. The video also explains that adding in baseline Hekili and GSE is basically a training wheels sort of thing to get people going or to help out kids, elderly and disabled.

El oh el.

PVP is so well known for GCDs not mattering.

This is the stretchiest of the kitty cats

PVP famously lets you bang out your optimal rotation, but slower and with no way to override what Hekili wants you to cast next. Super winning strategy.

You clearly do not understand, and I have doubts that you ever will.

The fallacy in your thought process is that you think everything implemented in this game is for you.

You are probably in luck.

Whatever you are Chicken-Littleing about probably wont happen

do you think people are going to try to do this in mythic? i feel like we’re going to see some bricked keys at least at first just so people can try. i like the idea of the button for the reasons you said though but i can see a con with my above.
:cherries:

Not really. Ignoring them is the best thing one can do from a legal stand-point. But you appear to be completely committed to seeking out conflicts and fights, which of course is why you always ultimately lose. Not a question of if, but when. Because at a certain point, people get sick of the conflict and the people who seek it out for the sake of confrontation and shut both sides down. Often ruthlessly.

See you get it. No matter what argument is offered, there is no legitimate argument that can be made by anyone with a reasonable mind which would be against this feature. Moreover do a snap judgment here people. Surely all of the folks posting realize that even if this addition to the game has flaws, and it does not as far as I can see; this feature is not going to magically be halted; with Blizzard snapping off a military salute and saying “This will never happen again sir. Sorry sir.”

You can post about it a thousand times and scream at the moon, but it won’t change anything.

You have no legitimate reason for being angry about this if there is a meaningful delay that separates players who can play their class well, from those who are disabled. If it was a case of boiling everyone down to one button rotations? Yes, we’d have a right to be annoyed. But that is not what this is. This is like motion sickness options and arachnophobia options.

While we’re on the subject, I reckon we should give Shadowform an option to be disabled or invisible also. I’ve seen threads in the past where it was cited or claimed that it’s particles were causing a strobe effect that caused epileptic episodes or something to that effect.

Sigh…so I cannot give my opinion without being looked at as crying?

First off, it has nothing to do with my gameplay. I stated I was worried about how it can effect me or the future of gameplay.

There are players that are disabled that do play. In all content. Maybe you and Blizzard can celebrate and use them to promote helping and getting more disabled players into the game and the other aspects of it.

Or you can just insult me.

Uh, I am willing to bet that the difference between performance of a 1 button player and a decent able bodied player will be significant. Im thinking at least 15-20% DPS loss in mythic +.

The EXTENDED gcd will make everything feel slow. So that’s an automatic no for me.

Were you this upset at the inclusion of lfr too? Another addition that was meant to offer more access to more of the game?

Nope. There’s a dps loss, it doesn’t take into account cooldowns or the like. As far as I know, no one even uses GSE in any end game content. Some do use some cast sequences, but nothing that works like this. It may be intuitive to toss out an AoE when it senses more than one enemy, but it’s nothing like an optimized rotation.

No you won’t. Unless people weren’t smart enough to vet who they invited.

Again, GSE and cast sequence macros have existed forever. This one comes with a penalty and not as intuitive. So unless you’ve seen it before in end game content, you won’t see it now.

The GCD penalty and the fact it will probably miss time your cooldowns and other effects like that will be enough. You’re stomping your feet and screaming over something that has absolutely zero effect on you.

People are knee-jerk reacting so damn hard on this early news…

Been here a long time off & on and every update and new addition is so often seen as “troubling” & “dangerous” to the health of the game and other forms of doomerism.

The people posting stuff like this is who are picking fights…

Right now you are basically saying to the people punched, that they are in the wrong if they punch back instead of the people throwing the first shot.

No, this just enable those that want a limited journey to not be limited by mastering a complex rotation… they can just get on with exploring the world.

No, for some their enjoyment is solely by exploring the world and the combat part of it is a barrier to their enjoyment. You might say “well this isn’t the game for you,” but clearly Blizzard wants to accommodate those with low-skill and (more importantly) those that might be brand new to the game.

No, it will lift the floor of those those with low-skill (or no skill because they’re new), it will not lift you to the top-1% of skilled players in any way, shape, or form. That was explicitly covered in the interview Ion had with Max and Dratnos. I’m paraphrasing but the line was something like “this is aimed at beginners that don’t enjoy learning their rotation or feeling compelled to get an add-on like Hekili, but this does not invalidate top-end players who will have plenty of headroom for skill expression beyond what the rotation assist and 1-button macro will provide.”

A lot of doom predictions in your post, but you didn’t seem to really pay attention to what actually was said in the interview (if you even watched it at all; seems more like you just conjectured off 3rd party notice that “1 button macro coming to kill WoW”).

Ok, we will. Not all opinions are equally valid, and this is a good example of that. People who are using these kinds of accessibility tools do not suddenly think, “Oh I’m really good at this!”

They know they are using a crutch. So stop kicking it out from under them and demanding that they learn to walk correctly.

Reread Taran Zhu’s line to Jaina and Lor’themar on the Isle of Thunder. It ends when you walk away.

There’s some actual wisdom to be gleaned from it. Your examples of punching and so on, also have no bearing. One is assault. The other is self defense. All courts require the person being attacked to retreat ‘if’ possible. Punching back again and again after you stopped the assault simply shifts you from victim to aggressor, and the person who attacked you to the victim. Not making anything up, just citing case law.

Also forum arguments are not the same physical altercations. Don’t confuse them. But do walk away. It’s better.

He just saw “1 button rotation” and start foaming at the mouth, filling his gamer diaper and screaming for his mother to bring him some more tendies as he made a beeline for the forums.
