WoD version.
lamest version.
When it takes on average at least 1 dungeon per level… yea. Definitely more than a couple
What?? No…the alliance garrison alone makes the WoD SMV a GOAT zone. Music, atmosphere, and tone of the zone…it’s amazing.
Yeah, but there are happy spacegoats there. Bread has a certain … affectation.
EXCUSE ME? shadowmoon valley that green volcano. the black temple. the lightning. the atmosphere. NO CONTEST OUTLAND WINS AGAIN!
Too much green/10. It’s aight. It’s no WoD SMV but it’s still cool.
Those are rookie numbers. I did 1 dungeon and picked 2 flowers in the starting zone and got all my alts to 60. Grind harder.
Wait. Which flowers?
Pretty sure they meant herb. They were picking the herb and got that high level so quickly.
Simply not possible regardless what zone you’re taking. Idk with some XP buffs and shenanigans, and collecting every single herb/Ore you come across
Ok and I’m telling you we did Southern Barrens, then went to Deepholm at lvl 30 and finished Deepholm at lvl 60. We didn’t grind bgs. We didn’t grind dungeons.
Idk I feel like I’ve been cool to all the non-dirt bag people in the thread.
The point remains it’s a crap experience for brand new players trying the game. Without someone to guide them it’s hard to envision a “fun” aspect of the game.
There, OP edited with additional info.
If you’re expecting a classic experience from retail, you’re going to be disappointed. The leveling experience is a means to an end.
The real game is m+ and raiding. Everything else is just boring filler that is luckily quickly bypassed.
You either go back and play through the two decades of content, research the lore outside the game, or you don’t. If I was coming to a TV show in Season 10, I wouldn’t complain about how I wasn’t able to absorb everything about the first 9 seasons in 10 hours. Thankfully, unlike a TV show, WoW is able to be enjoyed from a gameplay perspective despite that. So unless you want your friends to spend from now until The War Within releases leveling through Classic, BC, Wrath, the revamped Cata zones, the Cata-specifc zones, Pandaria, Warlords, Legion, BfA and Shadowlands, this is what it has to be.
Maybe there shouldn’t have been a level squish? But “OH NO! 120 levels? Oh, however will new players get through it all”
IN A WEEK! BLIND! IF they’re smart!
I don’t believe you.
if by overhauled, you mean cut it loose to drift into the aether unused, and unloved, then yeah it was ‘overhauled’ a cliff like a defective spartan child.
It was your choice to level using a high-efficiency-low-fun method; you could’ve just had them do their class hall campaigns from Legion or pick a zone that’s known for having interesting questlines (pretty sure Southern Barrens and Deepholm aren’t especially well known for that). Why would you turn war mode on if you didn’t want to level faster?
A lot of people probably didn’t even know what was going on in the story when the game was popular either. Not everyone played WC3. It’s no more confusing now than it was then.
In fact as someone who didn’t play WC3 I have the least biased opinion of all: if there was ever an overarching story to this game it was incoherent even in Vanilla
I hate to say it, but (first of all you are correct it is awful), 60-70 is also terrible.
Dragonflight is the worst leveling experience ever. It really never gets any different… Like if you have any alts be prepared to have the exact same experience again.
There isn’t any variety ever in leveling in Dragonflight. Shadowlands, as much as people hated on it, had a leveling experience 100x better and it isn’t even close (different every time because of the way covenants worked, zones were far more varied and you got a greater variety of xmogs, mounts, and other collectibles… just more variety all around… it wasn’t the same leveling experience every time… and not everything was “rock-themed” as dragonflight is.
Dragonflight’s theme as a whole is actually “rocks and dirt” so if you play a shaman or druid it will probably be incredible actually… but paladin, warrior, mage, dh, dk, rogue… eh
But don’t get me wrong there is lots of fun at max level to be had, the leveling experience and outdoor world just is not good imho
