Ok, thats adorable, Ziryus.
Facts remain, I ran zerg AV runs in 1.12.
Ziryus: Mogar: Smiles:I 100% ran zerg AV runs in Vanilla when 1.12 went live.
Yup, reinforcements didn’t facilitating zerging. The changes to the map and the player mentality did. Once they figured out losing a fast AV was more honor efficient than winning a long one, that’s what they did. But even that mentality in 1.5 wouldn’t work because the NPCs and the map simply doesn’t allow it.
I could probably count the number of AVs I’ve seen end with the Generals alive on one hand. Versus hundreds of AVs that ended after a General died. So reinforcements play almost no role.
Reinforcements turned zerging into the best strategy on the map. Before that as the OP said it was perfectly viable for people to play defense or at least back cap and stall. And despite what some people with bad memories are trying to claim there were plenty of long games in AV in 1.12 and it was no where near a zerg every time.

That zerging occasionally happened hardly means that every game was a zerg.
Switzy:Are those who simply upvote part of this vocal minority too?

I’m just trying to figure out what his definition of the “vocal minority” is, and why he thinks the forum population is going to have the exact opposite viewpoint on AV than the rest of the Classic playerbase.
And infinitely better than the private server, off brand, nasty nuggets you’ve been snacking on.
It is exactly the same 1.12 AV the PSs are providing.
Try again.

Ok?
I’m not arguing that it will happen every single time. I’m arguing that you can zerg run AV in 1.12.
I dont want the option of zerging to even exist. What part of that do you not understand?

I get that for whatever reason, maybe you’re just lazy, you don’t want to take the OP’s advise and do something about it yourself.

Echo chambers exist, it’s a good thing Blizzard looks to multiple platforms for player opinion.
It’s like I took a time machine back to 2006 post 1.12 AV changes and am seeing the EXACT same arguments I saw back then defending 1.12 AV changes.
The people who actually played original AV and saw what it did to the BG are going to continue tell you people you’re wrong.
History is repeating itself. There’s a reason we learn history in school, it’s so we don’t repeat the same mistakes.
Too bad we’re going to repeat the same mistakes with Vanilla WoW…
I’m just trying to figure out what his definition of the “vocal minority” is, and why he thinks the forum population is going to have the exact opposite viewpoint on AV than the rest of the Classic playerbase.
Well, count how many people are actively posting to these AV threads AND loudly disagreeing with 1.12.
Then subtract that from the estimated number of Classic players that has been forecast…
That will create a pretty good baseline number for you.

You know what you’re 100% right we should learn from history and ignore the people whining about how AV is just a zerg since we know they’re wrong.
I dont want the option of zerging to even exist. What part of that do you not understand?
Oh we get it.
I’m just not quite sure where you get the chutzpah to imagine your opinion is so much more important than everyone else’s.
If you look at the vanilla patch time-line AV got changed literally every patch, so how can anyone claim ‘1.X is the REAL AV!’ every version was only the real av for 1-3 months before it was changed again

As I said in another thread, does anyone else find it weird how nearly every pro-1.12 AV poster who is constantly posting about it seems to be posting in a manner to seek attention and stir up drama?
It’s pretty apparent at this point what their agenda is, and it’s not to help make classic a true authentic experience, it’s to be forum trolls.

Looks left. . .looks right. . .
Seeing nothing but the majority of posters heavily against 1.12 AV.
I never said my opinion was more important than others. So I dont know where you got that. My opinion is simply in alignment with the vast majority of posters on these forums.

Did you actually read through the Reddit posts? How many people expressed an opinion about preferring 1.12 for reasons other than “1.12 is what we’re stuck with” or “it’s too hard for Blizzard to change 1.12 code”? As a customer, and not a Blizzard developer, I don’t care one bit about either of those arguments.

If you spend more time in that subredit beyond that comedy thread, you’d see a different sentiment.

Ad Populum.
And these forums are a small portion of the playerbase. I post here pretty frequently and I see the same names again and again. So to imagine that you are aligned with the majority is just false.
We forum dwellers are niche af.

I agree.
The posters that want 1.12 AV are dwarfed by the posters who are against 1.12 AV.
So what does that say?!
Says nothing. The majority of people probably don’t care and aren’t posting in any forums. It’s just a loud minority crying about it.
