Why does Warcraft 3 Reforged look so awful now?!

Why does people even giving a useless feedback about “awful grapgics” if it’s literrally just a beta? If Blizzard have a better build and even before the Beta even began they post that it will look different from a release version

because beta is what you get at release after some minor fixes.

Heh…Toxics

Reforged’s situation is a rather funny one.

I remember when these forums were first opened and the feedback addressing the Culling of Stratholme preview we were shown started rolling in.

So, so many comments on how “the game looked horribly shallow”.
How “they dropped the vibrant colours of the original in favour of crappy realism”

Welp, one year later, here we are. How the turntables!

So, one version of the game, the demo, it’s more greyed out, while the beta is more colorfull like the original game. Your point is???

The beta looks really bad.

I find the original warcraft better looking… Ironically a high poly Warcraft 3 would look better than Reforged beta.

The trees don’t even move in the beta man.

Look at how crappy the trees and ground look.

Illarian, what? Ppl asked for other colours - they get it. Yes. But people didnt ask to cut off the water, high-poly trees, grass, raytracing etc. Did you see current beta just lacking things which were the positively reviewed by community?

If we’re being honest, when the beta was first released there were a lot of problems getting the graphics to work on multiplayer. I suspect Blizzard may have cut many of the graphics in order to focus on core functions of the multiplayer. Graphic problems could always be fixed at the end. It’s the same reason why the unit portraits don’t move yet, Blizzard is confident that they can get them working fast and if any problems persist, it could be patched rather easily.

Other mechanics of the online like wait times, lag, or networking service are likely Blizzard’s primary focus in the beta.

They already have graphics build for release - they didn’t cut the shaders, tectures and water - Shut up and wait,We didn’t even get the Updated (Completely Updated) editor yet

Hope someone export all the models and make a new starcraft 2 wc3 mod… here we can see how many money blizzard use for it. they sell us a 30euro game that don’t even has a own engine or one of their modern engines…

Toxics…The game is gonna look even better than awful Starcraft 2 game.

Something’s totally off with the video quality on the movie. That’s what makes greatest difference. Probably re-coded multiple times, or uploaded with too low bitrate.

Also, some shadows are missing due to a bug, and it has too much contrast, probably also due to a bug.

I don’t hate the new graphics, but they are somewhat of a disappointment.

Most of the models are very nice, but the overall effect is kinda muddy looking. As others have said the terrain, lighting and color balance could use a lot of work. I hope they can sort it, but I’m not holding my breath.

Do you have a source for this, or is it just wishfull thinking?

They did mention that Beta still doesn’t have the final graphics.
They still have 2018 graphics on their site
And they did said that on one of their Interviews

I think some effects are not added to the warcraft betta. Look at the settings interface, it is not finished yet.

So much to add to the game, and so little time left. Will have time. Maybe it’s all ready, it remains only to collect in pieces.

Beta Reforged does look awesome, but not as awesome as it was in 2018. For Example - Human Units looks more plastic and less metal, some units look like a clay figures and water looks unrealistic. But it will change at release

Everything is already done - They just don’t need HD graphics for Beta yet.In the release - there will be a different client and build

Although I agree that there’s definitely an issue with the graphics in the Grubby video, it’s more likely to have to do with the video (itself or Grubby’s settings) than it does the build itself, as it looks fine here.

And it is a reasonable argument that the graphics in the demo might have been slightly better, but it would take quite the serious GPU to get it running at high detail on a 12-player custom game with a 4K monitor. My GTX 1070Ti can’t quite handle top detail on a 2K monitor…

I do wish Blizzard would update the interface to somewhere close to what is in the 2018 video, now that is definitely better. Right now the interface we have is not only slightly bugged but it sure looks both too big and just generally outdated.
