What happened to the graphics?

Can someone explain to me whether all these people are comparing the current Beta build to the 2018 demo or to the hacked version from a few weeks ago? Was the aforementioned hacked build closer to the demo? Or identical to the Beta?

Or have they slept through the whole hacked version entirely and only take the demo into account? Among the changes - the new Footman shield and brighter, more colourful and lively grass.

People need to understand that the campaign demo from last year was showing maps and assets made specifically for reforged.

What people are seeing now are classic Warcraft III melee maps with HD assets turned on.

It is possible that all high quality assets are not yet finished. Hence why the restriction to medium settings.

That shouldn’t have any effect on the graphics engine though.

OOF, didn’t catch you before your edit. Disregard.

Demo looked like sc2, beta looks like wc3 with HD models walking on tilesets so bright and oversatured that it burns my retina.

Shaders are almost gone
lighting is so bad that you can’t even notice materials on specular maps and every model looks like it has 2D textures instead of actual PBR plus the fact that now units looks like they are floating on the terrain like it happen on classic WC3
terrain tileset saturation is so intense that looks like in a punch on your eyes
any attempt of environmental particle effects (like fog for example) are completely gone

They didn’t even managed to make it look half as good as sc2 in term of graphics, omfg, they surely had to downgrade in order to keep 60 fps

Very hyped to this camera shot with no Specular maps reflections lololol

And that ritarded of Yourardas claimed that beta looks better of 2018 demo, being a nostalgia fag is truly a bad for your brain

That Starcraft 2 screenshot has units disconnected from their shadows leading to the units looking like they’re floating. I feel like you’re trolling.

Disconnected by a pixel on sc2, meanwhile Reforged beta barely has any shadows, nice attemp at being a smart@ss

Plus sc2 has realistic reflections, reforged beta doesn’t… reforged my @ss

Actually, now I have checked Grubby’s stream of the official Beta, and I like the Lordaeron Summer tileset greatly! I cannot understand why you would prefer the ugly bleak depression-inducing SC2 terrain to the lovely lively colours of the Beta!

The units in the reforged beta screenshot have higher resolution shadows that they are indeed connected to. As do the trees and buildings. I don’t know what kind of shadows you think are lacking but all looks as it should to me.

Look at reforged demo then, shadows are way more defined, on beta it looks like the sun is at 5 meters of distance by how flebile they are.

By disconnected by a pixel i meant on sc2 btw

I guess the shadows could do with being a little darker. It doesn’t really seem like a big deal to me though.

I’d also like to mention that I do not like the washed out look it had in 2018. Texture resolution was also markedly worse.

Beta looks like a downgrade compared to blizzcon 2018. I still like it tho

At least in the version of the blizzcon, the brightness does not burn my eyes.
I can’t watch more than 10 minutes of current gameplay. Incredible

Isn’t it closer to the SD WC3? I don’t get it. My biggest complaint with the 2018 demo was that the colours were too bleak and bland. Maybe, it’s the monitors you and I are using?

Why not getting darker colors like the demo and the option to use eye sore super bright colors for nostalgia sake? why downgrade wtf

^^ this… Seriously what the hell happened

It’s almost like a demo is a vertical slice that they have specifically to show off while a beta is where the nitty gritty, unfinished stuff pops up.

Do you consider the SD colours eye sore? Do you enjoy looking at SD WC3?

Are you watching it on your phone? My phone depicts colours incredibly saturated, but the laptop is bleak - so to me, 2019 Reforged is great.

There was no restriction to settings, he just chose to play on medium.

I hated them on wc3 classic aswell

Then why are you here? This game is not for you?

(Silly forum editing my post because it’s a bug that happens when I quote the message fully that is also short.)
