Hey there! The crashes appear to be an uncaught exception. It isn’t super clear on what the issue is outside of “NextStep” library issues with the MacOS. Have you tried any troubleshooting such as reinstalling the game?

did reinstalling fix the problem?

Thank you for your support. i try to reinstall the game but nothing changed. I think the probleme come with the resolution or i don’t know cause when i try to launch the game, a window appear and the game go the full screen (black screen) and boom, crash

i tried to repair the game but the installation is ok. you can see the problem & the crash on the video below.

My video of the crash problem on Mac

i have the same problem on windows 10. i press the play button and same kind of error i get. “the application encountered an unexpected problem” error code is BA6AEABB-3AE4-48EB-8D02-D821423BF406, reinstalling didnt resolve my problem. even though i tried reinstalling several on different partitions, i have deleted the cache from C:/ProgramData, i cant find any solutions on forum. Same as #TitiBenze youtube video. Any ideas?

Hey there,

Could we try launching the game in Window mode? To do this we’ll need to open the preferences file and edit it manually. To locate the file:

  1. Open the “Go” menu
  2. Click Library
  3. Open Application Support folder
  4. Open Blizzard folder
  5. Open Warcraft III folder
  6. Locate the file labeled War3Preferences.txt

Basically open up this .txt file and scroll all the way to the bottom. Once there you’ll see Windowmode=2. You’ll want to change the 2 to a 1 or a 0. I recommend using 0 for now as a test. Example: Windowmode=0

Once you’ve made the edit, save the file in the same location then retry the game. It should now launch in Window mode.

Let us know if this works for you!

only folders that appear when i open the warcraft III folder are data, telemetry and x86_64. none of them contain a file labled War3Preferences.txt

I’m having the same error but there’s no “War3Preferences.txt” file inside my Blizzard folder, checking the “War3Log.txt” file inside the “Errors” Folder it reports the following Error:

1/29 13:08:17.937 prism: Error Invalid (0x00000000): Init: No Gpus Found

I was running TFT two days a go without any problem, now I can’t use the software I paid for, you guys better understand that you are killing your customer base by only giving support to the newest GPUs, you better watchout for your loyal customers and the community around them or you are going to lose it all!

i don’t find the file you are talking about… and i tried to re install the game 3 times already

Hey everybody,

We can’t troubleshoot all of your issues in one thread or it will become too confusing to troubleshoot. If you’re still having problems and are not the original poster (TitiBenze) please follow these steps and create your own thread if they don’t help.

how are you customer support when you don’t even know that mac users don’t have a war3prefences file. this is a garbage fire.

you guys looking at the wrong place  search vor the Mac library folder (not the application folder!)
if you dont know how to find it, use google: "show library mac"
sadly it is hard to find.

For OS X that file is actually located in:

  • /Users/username/Library/Application/Support/Blizzard/Warcraft III

Easy Way Copy Paste into: “Shift+CMD+G”

  • ~/Library/Application Support/Blizzard/Warcraft III

Now question is this the only blizzard title you own? If OS X Catalina did you give permission to the Battle Net Launcher to have read write disk access to whoever you installed the game to or accidentally removed it? The error looks to be it cannot write data to your applications folder. Check your security settings and make sure the the battle Net and wc3 have read write access to there directories. If you are not sure you can add it , if you are not ok with doing it manually go into the battle net launcher and pick a custom directory for the game , it will then ask you to give it access.

At this point you can just pick the same directory. Restart battle net and make sure the game is closed and should work then.

Hey all,

This link has our current best fixes for this problem. Since the OP hasn’t posted in several days, I’m going to lock this up to keep it from getting derailed. Please follow the steps in that post or post your own thread.
