Played it. Liked it

Enjoying the Campaign as well. Havent had a single bug and though I do have a pretty powerful PC I have seen no slowdown or issues at all.

The only issue I have seen is the sound can be a little choppy in a few cutscenes, nothing game breaking and fine.

I don’t do MP so I don’t care at all about that portion of the game.

I think the graphical update is fantastic with a good new coat of paint on one of the best RTS of all time.

The problem Blizzard had is if they change it too much people will gripe because they changed their beloved game, but if they don’t change enough people gripe because of that.

Overall I think the balance is pretty good. Do I wish they had made the new cutscenes? Sure, but apparently it wasnt on the chopping block so I am happy with my graphically updated WC3.

Im hoping one day they remake WC1 and 2 in this new Engine. I would pay 20-30 bucks for that as well!

I definitely enjoyed it very much. Just like Starcraft Remastered, my initial impression was “did they even do anything?” They did.

I did experience a crash, but it was a one off and right after the checkpoint was saved so I wasn’t too bothered.

What I am confused about is their inconsistent rules about changing content. I read that they initially wanted to retcon to WoW lore but fans pushed back so now we get the original WC3 story. However, the campaign maps are completely different and have different objectives too.

I am at Fall of Silvermoon right now and I couldn’t understand the optional quest - kill the runners, and do not attack Silvermoon. The main quest is to breach the city walls and get to the Sun well. It doesn’t make sense to me how that could be accomplished.

In original WC3, there is a quest to kill Sylvannas. Apparently it is the same, just not presented correctly.

So far, there’s been a lot of “opinions” in this thread. But here are the FACTS.

This backlash isn’t just a bunch of salt coming from angsty nerds. Blizzard misled its customers. Remember all the controversy over No Man’s Sky? Same thing here. Blizzard made a lot of promises and they did not deliver. If you don’t want to take my word for it, go and watch some side-by-side footage of the Blizzcon announcement and the final product that we got. I was honestly shocked when I saw it.

For people like me who watched the Blizzcon announcement and preordered the game THAT DAY, this has been a bitter disappointment and it’s left a lot of us feeling ripped off.

The game we got should have had a price tag of just $10 to $20.

Now, by all means, enjoy the game if you like it. I won’t think any less of you for it. But don’t you dare try to defend Blizzard from this backlash. They deserve every ounce of it. They misled us, significantly overcharged us and made this entire mess themselves.

They literally warn you all about the final product a while ago, they didn’t lied - All of 2019 promises are now in release version

“did they even do anything?” They did.

uhm…besides replacing models and animations…what exactly they did?

I am really enjoying it! The only things I am missing are the features of the old battle net (profiles, ladder, rankings, clans…) how is MMR even calculated?

how is MMR even calculated?

there is no MMR.

what hyperbole? look at the promises made at blizzcon. where are they in the game?
look at the cinematic posted on the friggen website. where is it?
where are the visuals from blizzcon?
why removed ranked matchmaking?
why remove clans?
why release a game as a bug ridden mess.

there is zero hyperbole.

honestly - if it was just going to be a simple graphical update, 30$ is too much for it.

honestly - if it was just going to be a simple graphical update, 30$ is too much for it.

it is a graphical update and a downgraded and broken client in every aspect.

basically we payed 30$ for better models but everything else is broken now. gg.

but see that’s the problem. it isn’t just about what you expected.
it is about what was promised - (updated graphics, updated ui, updated and overhauled cinematics, updated campaign with new missions, etc).
and most of that was cut. not only was most of that cut, they even cut ranked matchmaking and clans.

now you may be happy with what you got - but i want you to think about something.
you just paid a minimum of 30$ for updated graphics.
those who bought Age of Empires 2 DE paid HALF that minimum, and they got updated graphics, new civilizations, new campaigns, quality of life changes, balance changes, etc.

which sounds like a better deal to you?

and you don’t think 30$ is a bit much for updated graphics and minor changes to the campaign? look at Age of Empires 2 DE
not only did you get graphical updates and minor changes to some campaigns.
you got new civs. new campaigns. quality of life changes to make the game a little more fun. all for 15$ minimum. HALF what you paid for this. (minimum).

call us when paradox screws up a friggen remaster, which should be pretty dang easy.

show us where the backpedal is on the website. because the website literally still advertises the blizzcon graphics and the blizzcon culling of strat cutscene.

https://playwarcraft3.com/en-us/

they cut clans, ranked matchmaking, and other such fan favorites.

I like it too. Untouched gameplay, much improved graphics. Looks very good and modern now. But I hope, that rage and hate train will help to add some more features or dlc for free.

I have a complaint. Playing as Random should also count towards the race you end up rolling. That’s how it works in SC2.

They literally told this at Blizzcon for everyone to hear, and then release a shorter version on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiOJuPkzFH8

Yup that’s accurate and when I played the single player campaign they did a good job delivering on all that. Games great. Everything they said in that video was delivered in the final product.

@Cauthon, do you enjoy re-hashing everything random strangers say on reddit? Or are you a parrot irl? Check out MPako’s post and please… shut up.

I love singleplayer experience but I miss custom campaign options. Luckily, Blizzard already stated that they are going to add it later. Currently Reforged is better RoC, and by the end of the year it will become a better tFT.

And yet the website still advertises stuff…hmm. any and all UPDATES OR CHANGES SHOULD BE POSTED ON THE WEBSITE
