Keep Characters As They Were in WC3 not WoW

Olthou low poly no doubt… In her warcraft 3 if you watch carefully ud see tyrandes model is heavily armored over the tiger.
With that in mind again I want to bring another point on the table, and that is paying respect to the fans of warcraft 3, just like they do to Wow fans, they say this is not catering, but can we please go to wow vanilla character models update, where they did not even dare to touch draeneis tails and make them bigger like they were in concept art and how many players asked for?, where they did many posts basically saying we recreating them so faithfully you will not notice the difference… Can someone tell me why the same company has so different approaches when it comes to wow and then when it comes to this new game…? The answer is way clearer…
Another point I want to make is
We got two groups of people the warcraft 3 fans asking for faithful character recreations, and the wow players saying they don’t care about whatever clothing they using because wows is cool…
If one group cares… And the other doesn’t… Isn’t it better for everyone if u listen to the ones who care?.. Just in this post you can see people who is more accosted to wow saying they don’t care about the clothing… Mess literally with everything there’s a thousand of new additions you could put on the game, I already posted a thread about being able to costumize the armies… Just please please don’t mess with the campaign and the heroes within it.

I also doubt that most WoW fans would care that much even if there wouldnt be new voice acting with the same voice actors as from World of Warcraft, as they would understand that Warcraft III came first…but I understand that for those players Blizzard wants to give those familar voices that they have grown up with. Just wish that Blizzard would also go that extra mile to offers us RTS fans also the new voice lines voice acted with old voices if in any way possible, but as long as we still get to choice the old voices, I wont complain too much.

If Blizzard also would want to go extra mile, they could have different models for these characters to choose from, so the fans could decide themselves whats the best look from 2 or 3 options, but again perhaps thats just asking bit too much

Totally agreed like I said I made a post about it, if at the end of the day they will push the wow look, at least give us the rts fans the choice to use original clothing…this is the way to go, like in every other remake… Resident evil 2 could be a very good example of this, they already showcasing the original costumes. And look how good critics they are getting

I apologize for not being clearer. I already knew that her WCIII depiction was armored, and while not having read the novels, I have gleaned from references in forums to her in the novels over the past years that she is described as wearing armor in them too. However, I must admit that I don’t feel any great need to stay true to the novels either.

I like this suggestion. While I am probably in the minority of players who like the mooncloth robe image of Tyrande, I have no interest in undermining or making decisions for anyone who disagrees with me. This seems like a good way to avoid that, and avoid experiencing the same problem myself.

I particularly don’t have anything against the robe she used in wow,i think it looked pretty cool and as an unlock-able or something would be very cool. although i do think in the context of the game,it would make sense that she would be in a front line with a robe…

I want to paste here my response to another thread that mirrors this one, but focuses on the WoWifying of the lore:

Please, no! I very much did not appreciate how in SCR the unit portraits were not modernised, but altered altogether to match with those in SC2. PLEASE don’t do this with WCR and WOW. In regards to graphics, if you do that, I will dislike it and most likely choose to play with the old graphics. Now, if you do it to the lore, that will be disappointing. Not necessarily on the scale of Diablo Immortal, but the same kind of disappointment.

I’m with you, as a die hard fan of warcraft 3 I hope developers take back on the desition to make them look like in wow or heroes, pay respect to war3 players just like they did when remodeling vanilla playable characters in wow. Remember this is the foundation of WoW not the opposite, and it’s because of this game that we love the characters in wow, not the opposite… Please Mrs. Christie Goldie… Do not defecate on my characters like you do in your novels.

I’m actually of the opinion that Kael’thas’ portrait on the website is his best representation ever, and that’s with my being absolutely pedantic, scrupulous, outright manic about everything concerning his majesty.

I’m not saying wows depiction is bad, indeed wow has my favorite depiction of sylvanas, the one that came with wrath of the lich king expansion… For me that was the best one to depic the undead leader (Pd I hate how they changed her lips in légion its gross!)…
However I don’t think that should be her depiction in war3 she’s supposed to have a different vibe, by this time she just had recovered her body, so I would expect her to use her old farstrider clothing. And reddish blood on her eyes…

I also do not like how Illidan looks in WoW. His face looks very ugly and also looks very old. That appearance eliminates the good impression that he transmitted in Warcraft 3. Also in WoW he looks too thick.

The designers should make him a more stylized and young body.
That his body be more stylized and muscular at the same time. And his face younger and attractive.

Fun fact that according to lore Illidan’s and Malfurion’s face (aside from Malfurion’s beard and obviously Illidan’s empty eye sockets and horns growing from his head after he picked up and used Skull of Guldan ) should be identical…they are twins after all.

There are YEARS between the happenings of Warcraft 3 and WoW. Heroes should keep their previous outfit BEFORE WoW, as they was when they were YEARS YOUNGER.

In the first sentence in the video below you can hear there are 4 years have passed since the races united together to fight Archimonde and the Burning Legion and between the beginning of WoW. The story of Warcraft 3 starts even before that.

They should be recreated as they were years ago, when their stories begun.

Twins doesn’t always mean identical twins. Twins can even be different sex, genetically they are on par with typical siblings.

Nah, but it is described in “War of the Ancients” trilogy from Richard A Knaak that Malfurion’s and Illidan’s faces were near identical…not saying they are exactly identical or that they were identical twins, but that they share very, very similar faces, or atleast originally did

Yeah agreed, Illidan is an agility hero which primary ability is his evasion, his body should be slender… A thick body looses his grace when attacking… His body is not meant to receive hits but to evade them

Interesting. They then must have just been very similar looking, but I guess they still weren’t identical, since, well, obviously they don’t look identical now.

Can we please not bring the new lore of new novels and wow, yes they are twin brothers in old lore too and I wouldn’t mind if they actually resemble each other wouldn’t be kinda cool,

Well, it doesn’t work like that. A good story is consistent, no matter which material you read or play. You can’t have someone looking totally different there and then when you come to WC3 it looks like a totally another person.

Well again keep in mind that this was during War of the Ancients…I would imagine that during that 10 000 year period they might have become quite bit more different looking from eachother, Illidan especially rotting in his underground cell

Sweetheart have you been playing wow for the last couple of years? Consistency on the story is not something that goes well with wow
