"It's just review bombing"

And did 0/10 change any opinions of people you know who had strong faith in Blizzard?

Let me guess, most people you know already have a low-faith in Blizzard, much like you.

So who exactly is this 0/10 going to change the opinions of?

I think it’s pretty easy to identify good feedback versus poor feedback. It has nothing to do with the number. It has to do with the content of the review. If you’re reading reviews and only look at a number, you’re doing it wrong. I’ve purchased many products with poor reviews after reading the feedback when I realized that the people providing poor reviews can’t follow directions to build a damn table, for example.

A 7/10, 0/10, or 10/10 can all be equally as bad or good for a review. It’s completely dictated by the content of the review.

If you have strong faith in Blizzard at this point, then seriously something wrong with your head with due all respect.

And did 0/10 change any opinions of people you know who had strong faith in Blizzard?

Yes. It may be the final nail in the coffin. If not, the upcoming Overwatch 2 debacle will most likely will be.

When there is such a volume of reviews, there are going to be very few people who will even begin to delve into it to search for good feedback. I dare say, I wouldn’t even consider that a reasonable course of action.

It’s like going to 4chan to look for good feedback. I’m sure you will find some there, but as soon as I say 4chan you have an idea of what you should expect. That is the collective informing the opinion, that is what I mean. If you see somethng with 6400 0/10 reviews, then you know it’s a pit of hell to stay away from, not something you seek with the expectation of finding a quality 0/10 review.

This has to do with the GUI of the site that hosts the reviews. When a site knows there are going to be a ton of reviews, they typically implement features where people let others know if the review was helpful. Those reviews are moved to the top.

Again, we can’t change or control that. We can do what we can control, which is write our honest feedback and hope that it helps one person, either within the business or outside as a consumer. That’s all we can control.

I completely agree with you. Please read my opinion below as an classic and tft avid warcraft III player.

This is a bad and very poor re skin of warcraft III, there is literally no reason to buy this game, the original has much better graphics. I have played more than 5000 TFT games and when I saw gameplay footage on YouTube of this game I got myself a refund. Seriously this is the worst cash grab ever. I really hope Blizzard realizes that they can’t do this anymore, milking old games like this, they should really wake up. There is nothing new about this game. And it’s even worse than the original.

I hope you community managers get our dissatisfaction known to everyone working for Warcraft III at the moment. This is a complete disaster. You were in a far better position without even investing in a remake of Warcraft III, you could leave it as it is. It was great. You will soon realize that the money you spent on reforged will all be gone after every last player asks for a refund. I hope this will be the lesson for you all…

Who’s fault is this? Who hyped this as flagship for Blizzcon 2018, who baited and switched what was announced? Who screw over classic players? Why are we looking what players reviewing than the cluster **** that we are stuck in?

I couldn’t even get into the second mission without a game breaking glitch auto-defeating me upon loading in. If I can’t even PLAY a single player campaign, it gets a 0.

What’s the single most important thing for a game? Being able to play it.

Great! That was the entire point. Don’t do as I did and waste your money on this game. Looks like we’re getting our point across then…

Now, let’s hope they fix this quickly, and I’m sure most of us would gladly fix the number to reflect how we feel about the changes.

My argument supercedes that.

My point is that with such a high volume of complaint, the general public does not associate this as a normal means of complaint. Especially with 0/10 ratings which are generally viewed as ‘outrage’.

No one is going to actively seek out opinions of outrage. Just like no one goes to 4chan to actively seek out impartial and fair opinions. People will see the trainwreck for being a trainwreck and treat it as such; something you observe casually and move on, not as if it should be something to delve deeper into and have their opinion changed as a result.

OK, so the issue with 0 review or review bombing? We need to be specific, if everyone gave it 2 (one point for loading menu and another for matching making), will that be better? review bombing with 1 or 2 is better than 0? I really want to know where we are going with this.

Again, that isn’t something people who leave reviews can control. There are tons of sources explaining why these reviews are happening. Forums, news, social media, etc. I can’t control any of that. I can’t control what you use for research. I left my review, I left a detailed explanation of why the review I left was the way it was, and that’s simply all I can do.

Right? This is the point where I hop out, because I’m spinning my tires in the mud. Everyone, including blizzard at this point should know what the game is missing. You can call it a 0, 2, 4 or whatever you want. It has nothing to do with what’s missing from the game though. The content of these reviews explains that. Not a number.

Yes but here’s the takeaway

  • The fanbase is passionate about Blizzard games
  • Blizzard lets the fanbase down
  • The fanbase feels spurned
  • Blizzard is silent on the matter, does not react
  • The fanbase feels a need to act to get Blizzard to react

That is the fan’s goal here. This whole situation is born out of a need to get Blizzard to react. We are spurned by their actions, and we demand justice.

Yet the causality of this will not end in the way people expect. And we’ve gone through this so many times that I have no idea why people don’t understand that Blizzard does not change for the better each time we confront them about their bad actions. It’s the same song and dance, and it’s never in our favour.

I’d say the only real change for the good that’s happened was Classic WoW, and that was more in part because Blizzard found a way to make and release it. This, however, has Diablo 3 and HOTS plug pulling written all over it.

The problem is the fact that people are making their stand on an aggregate site

We pick and choose our battles. Why fight it on Metacritic, where all reviews are generalized into statistics?

We are already doing the right course of action by demanding refunds and informing of ways to achieve them. I wouldn’t go as far as to persuade people to refund though; refunds are a PERSONAL choice and should always be. There is no reason to preach a personal opinion.

Other than that, there is really nothing direct for us to do other than express opinion. And that does not guarantee positive change.

As I’ve stated time and time again - outcry does not incite positive change in a majority of the time with Blizzard. Look at the past and you will see what I mean.

Diablo 3. Warlords of Draenor. Free HK bans. Diablo Immortal. We have history repeating itself time and time again. Has any boycott really worked in making better products? It’s honestly not something that we have control over.

The plug was already plugged out on us and we were happy, who the heck decided to plug it back in and make us suffer?

We already passed the ending part. The game is dead for good especially to us who played classic. They will not roll back, we will not get back what we have. Our only option is move on or switch to PvP server, so why we are discussing what we consider our final move before moving out of this mess?

Then what do you suggest?

I am not giving solutions.

I am here to feed on your tears, bro.

You are posting on the forums. Forums are the echochambers of discontent. I’m here to show you how you don’t matter, like the rest of us.

Did you really come to the forums expecting hope and goodness?

Of course not. I’m just trying to study this mentatlity that those white knights have.
