Bad ping for EU players since last Tuesday

Please fix ping ASAP

then fix Crypt-lord immediately after

After I wasn’t able to even install Reforged without the community’s help and now the support in this thread suggesting that it’s the players fault for high ping, I don’t believe that anyone from Blizzard has actually touched this game.

Please hire someone who plays 2-3 matches a day, so issues are recorded in due time and not weeks and months after.

Hello,

I have 1gb download / 500 mb upload internet, I always had 20ms ping. Since a few days, I can have 180~190ms on some games, like everyone is reporting here. I asked people I am playing with, they are on EU, like me, and are lagging at the same moment, because it’s obvious the game is host on another region.

I didn’t ask for a refund of Reforged, but if you are not able to make TWO EUROPEANS play on a EUROPEAN SERVER in 2020, it is really time to step away from IT jobs.

Ty for the upcoming quick fix. Right ?

As of right now around 200 ping, definitely hard to play in those conditions … and as i can see, a lot of players have the same issues …
i’ll hope you’ll do something to improve players experience on the game
best

You can see here:
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/707159359
It’s captured on Grubby’s stream. Forward to 01:08:00 -> 2 EU players Grubby and Satiini playing on 200 ping.
The previous game again against Satiini (starts 00:41:00) was 20 ping

Hey, everyone. The high ping issues are very frustrating to run into, but in order for us to diagnose the issue properly and efficiently, we will need information from you all to see where the problem is. This data is greatly appreciated and we’ll have the data to get this escalated to our network team if its within our control.

If you could all provide the following details, it would be greatly appreciated so that we can get this added to our tracking for this issue!

  • Region:

  • Normal ping:

  • Current ping:

  • Gather a WinMTR test. Run the test until the problem occurs for 10 to 15 minutes. Copy and paste the text file created and paste it between two ~~~ like so:

    ~~~
    WinMTR Here
    ~~~

    If you have issues pasting here, use Pastebin and post the end of the link. (ie. 123456 for pastebin.com/123456)

    Note: If you are on Mac or the WinMTR test is not generating any text, please gather a pathping and traceroute test instead.

We really do appreciate the details and the quicker we can get this information and compare the data, the sooner we can get this addressed with the appropriate party or team.

Please keep in mind, the technical support forums are managed by the technical support team. As technical support, we can offer troubleshooting for technical issues such as connection problems. While this is our general task, we do gather information for some bug reports or server issues that appear technical. We are not the developers or engineers though, and if there’s something that requires the attention of our team, it’s best to do so on the #bug-report or #general-discussion forums as they may not monitor the technical support forums as often as we do.

I can add that I am experiencing the same issue. Some of my games I have 220 ms, others I have 60. I’m from EU. Fiber to the home connection 300 / 300.

The problem started last week. Before that this was never the case.

On a sidenote, I am a little displeased with the server location in europe and it would be nice if you added a server in stockholm :slight_smile:

This is the WinMTR output from a game that should have been played on an EU server but was played on an Asia server.

Enemy from RU

Me from GB

Game gets hosted on Asia server, he gets 120 ping, i get 450.

As was stated by many players, this is not about players having bad ping// connectivity issues - this is about the server selection process when creating custom games being poor.

Yo Blizzard,

The game IPs you list on your page are different to the server you actually connect to for custom games.
Running WinMTR - Blizzard Support are not the servers you used anymore.

From what I’ve found its the following networks for your WC3 reforged servers custom games.

Europe
37.244.54.0/24
37.244.9.0/24

Asia
59.153.41.0/24

NA
37.244.3.0/24

Please fix your servers.

I am from Europe. I login to Europe realm. When I create custom game I have 100 ms ping (EU host) 80% of time, 290 ms ping 10% of time (NA host), 210ms ping 10% of time (KOR host).

It is abnormal situation started 2.5 weeks ago. And it happens for many players, been discussed on many discord channels. It’s not user-side problems.

Please give us option to select preferrable host, because you fail to detect what is best automatically.

6 games in a row > 200 ms - wp blizzard

Really great that we get so much feedback from Blizzard. Really love it.
Also, good thing they realized that a bit more transparency and support/communication their end would help to make the community less disappointed about this game.
/sarcasm off

Does Blizzard even care?
Problem figured out? Solution when?
Can we pls get updates here?

If I would do my job the same way, I am pretty sure that I would get serious problems…

No

If your company treats their customers badly, they will lose them and go bankrupt. Actiblizz realised that they have a monopoly and thus can do whatever they want, there is no similar RTS to WC3. And even if there was, they already cashed in.

these > 300 ms games just make no sense to play - im about to leave them every time… funny thing is, one day I’ll get banned for this but i don’t even care.

I just got 5 times in a row the same guys in 2v2 RT every f****** time 300ms - WTF. Who thought this would be a good idea? xD

Wow and they’ve been asking for people to send them info - i checked those servers they look like crap…

@Caterpepi Your managers email. now.

Thank you for those who have provided information so far. The situation here is that we’re not receiving enough data to compare the tests that was requested from before. We request this data for our network team to review in case they do need it and if its within their control. We may wait for more data to be collected before we post again on a thread or if we have no new information to share with you all, we may not post regularly on the thread. We do read each post and are monitor each thread.

I did want to let you all know that there are some issues our team is looking into. There is currently an issue that our team is looking into issues with Level 3 and Cloudflare that may be causing issues with US and EU connections. This may be what’s been causing the latency issues within the game over the last few weeks. It looks like there could be some issues around these peers and the AMS1 Equinix peering from the limited tests provided so far.

These situations are frustrating to run into, but the data we request is essential to finding the core cause of the issue and understanding the issue further. If there’s any new information we can share with you all, we’ll update the thread here. In the mean time, I’ve only received about 3 tests so far. Please feel free to continue to provide the requested data from the post above.

Please keep in mind that technical support are not the developers or engineers. We only assist with technical issues that can be resolved through troubleshooting, and at times, we do help our teams gather information or may help communicate with known issues. These forums may not be as heavily monitored by the Warcraft III team since the Technical Support forums are managed by the technical support team. If you’d like to provide feedback regarding the game, please do so on the #general-discussion or any concerns with bugs on the #bug-report.

The situation here is that we’re not receiving enough data to compare the tests that was requested from before … In the mean time, I’ve only received about 3 tests so far. Please feel free to continue to provide the requested data from the post above

So this means that whoever is responsible for the server has no idea what the problem is, which means that he has no idea what he’s doing. I am not surprised tbh.

Thank god custom servers are coming soon, so I’m not even angry.

Thanks, Caterpepi.
