I rather have Void Rays revert to 3 supply each than a Viking supply nerf. This way, Void Rays can actually fight back against both Zerg and Terran air units supply by supply.
Noob Alert here yes I often saw pro games where they maxing out on this air comps without spellcasters and A-moved into enemy and watching.
as I think my 30 Ravagers (3000/3000 90s) get rekt by 50 stimmed Marrines (2500/0 50s) I think Marrines should be 3 supply as well and at least 25 gas
If someone micros a viking, it will ANNHILATE EVERY TOSS AIR UNIT. You donât even get to freaking attack the viking, even with speed upgrade, if you play someone who actually micros the viking.
The viking is OP as s. With how cheap they are and being reactorable⌠you can overwhelm any army, with ease, at any time in the game. Test it out. The only unit Toss has that can beat the viking at even supplies is like the freaking immortal.
Itâs the dumbest thing in the game. In a game if youâre going phoenixes and then you see someone going mass vikings, you canât even pump out phoenixes to beat the vikings. They will outnumber you and own you. Itâs asinine.

The zerg army would get absolutely crushed by both terran and protoss armies.
Terran yamatos 12 corruptors and then itâs 12 BCs and 14 vikings vs. 14 corruptors (no, broodlords donât shoot air and they are slow af so maybe they kill a base in the mean time but thatâs about it so just macro 100% after you used yamato + a-move (upgrades wonât matter here at all probably).
Protoss can just activate the skillrays and a-move - not sure why you think that 26 corruptors can beat 8 carriers and 11 voidrays with even upgrades.
You could also just focus-fire the broodlords, then fall back and warp in a couple of archons and stalkers, then a-move to victory.
And anyway: why are there no vipers for the zerg vs. mass vikings / voidray or infestors?! 26 corruptors is 1/3 (!!!) of the army value of the other races and should stomp them? WTF did you smoke?
Void Rays received a significant DPS increase before their supply was changed actually. The supply increase was a response to that, since the buffed Void Rays had far too much DPS for a 3 supply unit.
in last patch their dps was reduced by 33%
No, the Void Rayâs DPS is still the same both when charged and when not charged.
Problem with Corr is, they are not flashy, even when Zerg masses them almost every game. They dont win games, they deny any air army to enemy and let other units do the actual winning.
Donât tempt them, we all know itâs coming.
10 voidrays vs corruptors. 140 dmg per volley with focus fire.
before patch: 2 shots, corruptor dies and next shot is instant. so 3 shots in 0.72 seconds.
after patch: 3 shots in 1.08 seconds.
this is -33% effective dps
seeing as corruptors are supposed to counter bcsâŚ

if you added a raven or two to your air army and used AAM those corruptors melt

10 voidrays loose to 20 corruptors if you just a-move and 9-10 corruptors survive.
If you activate prismatic allignment, the 10 voidrays win and 6 survive.
protoss: 2.5k minerals and 1.5k gas; zerg: 3k minerals, 2k gas; both 40 supply
Focus fire doesnât greately increase the dps of the voidrays or the outcome of the fight.

I think youâre refering to the bug fix where beam attacks could deal more damage than intended.

- If you make the -400/-400 (Mothership) youâre already in trouble, just donât do it.
- 11 VRs with a couple archons to punish clumping shrek that zerg army.
- Corruptors are only good against low damage per hit or massive (phoenix, carrier, BC)
- âZerg casters are OP nerf them! Also nerf their standing army!â Pick one, not both.
- 1 AAM with those BCs/Vikings and the Corruptors die if on equal upgrades
- Thatâs a slow anti-ground comp, you could just double drop and snipe everything at one base while Zerg is waiting for their BLs to crawl to one of the fights and the corruptors do literally nothing against marines/zealot warpin.
this is not bug. beam attack was coded in this way in wol. and vr characteristics was balanced around it. new balance team just dont understand how game works. so they just make void ray(already weak and expensive unit) even more weak without any compensation
