Recently my computer just kept locking up when accessing any file from the D: drive, after rebooting I kept bluescreening with a NTFS.sys error, I formatted everything and it worked fine until I reinstall blizzard launcher and it happened again. Then I again reformatted and everything went fine and I was able to install some steam games and gta v from rockstar launcher, until I wanted to play overwatch again and installed blizzard launcher and about 17% in to installing overwatch my entire system just locked up again and I’m currently writing this whilst my PC is infinitely rebooting into NTFS.sys error bluescreens, so I guess I’ll boot to my Linux USB and reformat the drive because it’s the only way I can get it fixed!
Hey, Shy! This type of BSOD is likely caused by outdated drivers or system related issues. Bluescreens are not supported by Blizzard as the cause will be due to an underlying issue with the system or hardware, as outlined on our support article here.
It may help to check for windows updates, driver updates, or BIOS related issues, along with a system repair scan and disk scans. You’ll want to contact a local technician to address the bluescreen issues, and have them take a look at the dump files and event logs.
