Because it is the best RTS out there and it is easy to pick out the imperfections in a game that only has a few compared to a all those other games that are mostly just a ball of incoherent crap.
If SC2 was the garbage game that you say it is you wouldn’t be spending all your time on these forums complaining about it. If you do it then your truly are the worlds biggest idiot.
why are you still here posting on the forum if it’s so bad and not worth your time maskedwords, riddle me THAT one, so from YOUR perspective, you are wasting your own time, and calling the rest of us stupid?? hello?? rofl.
Report the worm and pass-on.
It’s time that BatZ opens a new account.
Why people play games? For fun.
As for the whining - people that constantly whine on the forums probably don’t have enough time left to actually play the game.
I remember all the hype around grey goo and haters saying that it would kill sc2, all of it ended within a couple of weeks after the game was released.
Sc1/2 is the best at short and fast paced games, if you like other things, as you say, there are other good games.I think the real strategy is more on the 4x subgenre and it has a ton of followers and strong titles, Total war games, Civilization series, Stellaris,Endless space/legends,Europa Universalis…they are games that can be long and extremely adictive, the classic ‘‘1 turn more and I close the game’’ that is never done.
The more classic RTS games eventually become clickfests because the strategy part is more reduced, so people tend to play more depth and turn based games being the total war games a hybrid because battles can be done manually.
So since it’s trash thread anyway, I’ll use it for private purposes.
Hi Dio, when I was last looking here, this abomination had 300 posts
Poor forum users who sometimes happen to see what he “creates”.
I hope atleast that you’re still having fun roasting him ^^
There is a correction to b made here:
Total War games are not RTS games, neither does CA (the developer) classify them as RTS games.
RTS games are a very specific genre, where you build bases, recruit troops and harvest resources, all in Real Time. Other games in Real Time that feature strategic combat, are still not RTS games, unless they have Real Time base building, active resource harvesting and troop training.
" In a real-time strategy game, each individual participant positions structures and maneuvers multiple units under their indirect control to secure areas of the map and/or destroy their opponents’ assets. In a typical RTS game, it is possible to create additional units and structures during the course of a game. This is generally limited by a requirement to expend accumulated resources. These resources are in turn garnered by controlling special points on the map and/or possessing certain types of units and structures devoted to this purpose. More specifically, the typical game in the RTS genre features: resource-gathering, base-building, in-game technological development, and indirect control of units.[4][5]
The tasks a player must perform to succeed at an RTS can be very demanding, so complex user interfaces have evolved to cope with the challenge. Some features have been borrowed from desktop environments; for example, the technique of “clicking and dragging” to create a box that selects all units under a given area. Though some video game genres share conceptual and gameplay similarities with the RTS template, recognized genres are generally not subsumed as RTS games.[5] For instance, city-building games, construction and management simulations, and games of the real-time tactics variety are generally not considered to be real-time strategy per se. This would only apply to anything considered a god game where the player assumes a god-like role of creation"
As a final note, CA itself classifies Total War real time portion as Real Time Tactics (RTT) not RTS.
Yep. Very true.
Hopefully AoE 4 is good. Lots of people love AoE 2, but lots of people don’t because it’s too symmetrical. AoE4 is going back to AoE2 style civilizations (getting away from lot of stuff they tried in AoE3) but they are going to have the civilizations be more unique and asymmetrical .
Nah. Only whiners whine. Lambo showcased that the game is decently balanced. Be like lambo. Dont whine. Work hard and achieve victory instead of blaming balance. The game is in one of the best states balancewise but yeah maybe the design is a bit bad right now.
I’ve seen a lot of trolls in my life, but I’ve never come across someone who trolled as hard as you (OP). And if you are actually anything other than a troll, you are at least one of the dumbest human beings I have ever come across. I can’t even exaggerate this. You just are. I feel bad for any game you come across because they are going to have to deal with your insanity and existence tainting their hard work.
But our Dear BatZ said that he attended University just before all his teeth were emerging (the first ones). He said that he was a real genius.
How it is that you say otherwise?
I suspect that you are envious of his genius (just a step below of the other genius (Playa) that invented every build in Starcraft).
I have an IQ higher than you can count, which might mean something if you could count higher than 3. When I was 10 years old I was attending university. You’re, what, 30 and still raging on a video game forum because someone suggested you try a new video game? Amazing.
It is pretty funny seeing the extreme disparity in IQ between me and the rest of the forum posters - I agree. It’s like if you put Dumb & Dumber in a room with Einstein or Newton.
They’ll never switch games because it took all their IQ points to get into … platinum league with protoss. LOL
I haven’t played a single game in months. But some forum user thinks he can peer through space-time and see I am still invested in the game despite all evidence to the contrary. Put the blunt down, wait for your eyes to uncross, THEN post.
I picked up sc2 after it became free to play. So to me it feels like a new game. I like how it’s a smooth, fluent and fast paced game.
Controlling an army sometimes feels like controlling a single dota 2 hero which happens to be able to split into up to 200 individual units. So army movement and the game of positioning felt already very familar to me a few months after i started the game.
And i like the overall space theme too, which feels a bit like home to me as sc1 was one of the first PC games i’ve ever played as a child.
As a student i saw people playing sc2 at the campus and admiring korean players. That was the first time that sc re-appeared in my life. I was envy about korean players and wasn’t willed to pay the full $ price for a game that would most likely hurt my ego. Also at that time i was more into Nintendo games and didnt had a good PC anyways. (I still don’t, in fact)
I normally play guitar but sc2 gives me an alternativ to challange my brain and to train my hands muscles even when I don’t feel like playing guitar.
I don’t think it’s a bad game, otherwise I wouln’t play it.
My favorite playmode is 3v3 unranked because it feels more relaxing. Small mistakes are more forgiving when there is 2 other players that got my back or at least have their guard up. And i like how i can play in ways that would be very risky in 1v1.
I sometimes play 1v1 ranked after playing 1v1 vs elite bots to warm up, or, when I don’t feel like relaying on teammates after a series of 3v3.
Thats why i play a 10y old game… i never really go with whats trending to begin with… for example this whole instagram and tiktok thing never got to me either. And women who use those platforms kinda turn me off for some reason. This whole modern everything-and-everyone-is-connected-to-everything-and-everyone theme is mostly getting on my nerves. I was even annoyed when my employer asked me to create a LinkedIn account. All this new flashy things. I just not my thing. Even Twitter feels like a new modern thing to me up to this day.
In my life it’s natural that i pick up games when most people have already moved on to something new. Never was really the mainstream typ of person. Never will be.
Lmao. Applying your hipster logic consistently, you should find the least popular game on steam, install it and play nothing but that.
There are lots of mainstream RTS games that are massively popular. SC2 was one of them at one point in time but no longer due to horrible design changes that ruined the game. In fact Broodwar created esports. That’s how good StarCraft used to be.
You seem to think people like a game because it’s popular and that’s not how it works. A game becomes popular because it’s a good game - not the other way around.
Someone contact the local psychiatric hospital. There is a patient on the loose…
you have how many posts on the forum? you don’t even play the game but waste so much time here, how is that any better? i’m extremely confused as to how you’re on a high horse about this. you are hilarious.
