Getting terrible lag/stuttering low FPS in the end of a Co-op game, when both armies are big enough. Depending on the ally it becomes unplayable and I often rely on my ally to finish the game alone.
My PC is a i5 and GPU is GTX 1060, windows 10. My internet is 100mb/s direct on cable.
It don’t seems to be graphics since I can run the game on the lowest setting possible as well the highest and the problem is the same.
Saying an i5 isn’t quite enough, specific model helps.
Seems like it’s your CPU holding you back when changing graphics settings doesn’t do anything. Starcraft 2 is heavily CPU limited since it can’t take advantage of multithreading, most of it runs on one thread so CPU singlecore performance is the most important factor.
Though I got a fairly big config, so it may be different with those that are limited more quickly, there 2 things I’ve done that decreased lag:
decreasing the amount of sounds (it was quite ugly until I got used to it, now it’s just a bit bad)
decreasing the resolution
On the other hand, the various graphic settings don’t seem to have much impact for me, the only one I have at low is “terrain”, and that’s only because I don’t like the reflections and stuff like that.
Doesn’t matter, there’s a big difference whether you have a 10 year old i5 or one from last year. So the specific model is very important. Especially if it’s a K model, because then I would suggest overclocking to increase your single core performance.
And the newest gens have hyperthreading, which might be a good idea to try turning off, it can potentially decrease Sc2 performance.
