Unable to select any units in game

I’m able to launch games fine, solo campaign and downloaded custom campaign, but I’m only able to interact by highlighting units with cursor. I’m not able to select units, see the commands, let along control any.

Check if your regular campaign is fine.

If yes, then it is the custom map problem.

regular campaign has same issue

I see. It is difficult to narrow down the issue.

You can consider clearing caches, failings which, a reinstall might be due.

so far I’ve cleared the cache, reinstalled, restarted, logged out and in and tried different campaigns and games with no effect. I can’t select units, but, oddly, I can click on “select all army” and control those. I tried deleting cache as well, no help.

Another odd issue: I also can’t select anything in the WoL campaign lobby, mousing over people/objects will highlight them but clicking does nothing.

Have you tried using another mouse? (when it’s too weird, may be worth looking on the hardware side)

Hey DantesFreeze,

Can you try going into the Documents folder and manually delete the Starcraft II folder to see if that helps? That’ll get the game to generate a new variables file and clear out anything weird that might be causing this.

If that doesn’t work, perhaps try resetting key bindings to defaults.

You could also try rebooting using Selective Startup in order to see if there’s another program or some kind of overlay that is causing issues with clicking.

Press Windows Key+R.
Type msconfig and press Enter.
Select Selective startup and uncheck Load startup items.
Select the Services tab.
Check Hide all Microsoft services.
Note: Skipping this step may prevent your computer from rebooting correctly.
Click Disable all.
Click Apply then click OK.
Click Restart.
