Take me back to 2012 when everything was slower and more boring and then dont balance the units to match. garbage. Im done playing until they fix this

Not me, I played the omega-hell out of WoL/HoTS and am have wild success on the ladder, and enjoying it immensly. ‘spose I should mention I use random, meaning I play all three races, so there is no bias.

Why do you think 12 workers boosts the mmr of people ? The opponent starts with 12 workers too. If anything a faster start should challenge people since they instantly need to do much more.

12 Worker start was the grossest exaggeration of skill i’ve ever seen in any RTS. It destroyed strategic diversity and essentially made the game no different than playing with map hack. This is why the meta was so unbelievably stale and uninteresting for 11 years.

StarCraft has ALWAYS been Korean dominant, it is NO secret as to why Europeans and NA players started to have even remote success upon LoTV game changes.

Agreed. I have learned the game playing regularly over the last decade, changing then was hard but I was invested, young, and had a lot of friends playing. Im older now and I just don’t have time to relearn the game. Blizzard has destroyed this for me.

Unfortunately, the game has been losing players for the last 8 years, so something has to be done to get an uptick in that number, otherwise they were in a downward spiral that would have eventually lead to server shut downs.

I believe it boosts CERTAIN people’s MMR who are genetically gifted to perform so many actions with such rapid playstyle. 12 worker start is absolutely insane past 5th minute. You have to do so many things at once, most people cannot deal with it.

Frankly speaking i believe 12 worker start is the main reason why i was never able to hit masters - i never had enough muscle memory. 8 worker start should be much more forgiving for most people.

Yes, but when it comes to korean dominance i believe it was always koreans who were mechanically superior but you maybe right - with 8 worker start, plenty of builds will see the daylight again and koreans will dominate once more due to strategical superioriy (i never considered Serral nor Clem to have any strategic insight)

Well i’ve toyed around with that concept, but the truth is those players have evolved into titans.

I think they’ll still be able to compete with their raw skill, but the level of dominance probably won’t be there as players like innovation are coming back to the game.

Why no patch for afk players at teamplays? like -100 mmr? why no patch against teamkillers? no, only be back 12 years ago with 8 workers. At that time i adapted cause was challenging, and i loved it. Now u can do a cigarrette, go to wc, and come back and nothing happened.

Implementing an additional ~minute of dead time and ruining the flow of existing build orders by reducing the starting workers from 12 to 8 changes none of this. Extreme copium.

So you advocate for the acceleration of smurfs de-ranking their accounts to create an even more toxic environment in the game mode of pre-determined outcomes? The only effective counter measure for these ‘people’ is to ban them, and that would only be effective if the game was no longer free to play and they could not instantly create a new free account.

They wouldn’t of changed from 12 to 8 workers if it was just dead time. The point is that now there are super aggressive openings available, plus it’s also less necessary to expand, which means players can have more time to fight each other.

You understand that 8 worker start means that the insane level is exactly the same, just starting more around 7 minutes, right?

like it simply does not affect, at all, anything about what makes the game too much.

The game is much better for me now. Yes, you can choose to play the same macro style, but now it is much more possible to play more aggressive. From 8 workers you can 8-12 pool, proxy attack, etc.

Cuz let finish the early game faster and safer than 8 worker start, Now the chesses can get more impact with proper micro, and are scalable; besides the Affreca tv and Show Tournaments era its over so…

Who cares if a Match only last 5 minutes?

What’s wrong with the patch?
