The mouse cannot select units

In the game, the mouse cannot select units and the keyboard does not respond. Restarting the computer and the game has no effect.

During gameplay, only options and pause can be clicked; this applies to campaigns, co-op missions, and single-player matches, but the lobby chat works normally. I’ve tried restarting the game and my computer, running the client’s scan and repair tool, and even cleared the version folder and reinstalled it—all without any effect.

ust to add, my keyboard and mouse are Bluetooth devices. I’ve checked the power plan and Device Manager, disabled the “Allow the computer to turn off USB devices to save power” option, tried switching USB ports, and tested with other computers and games as well. The keyboard and mouse work normally, but during gameplay, neither the left nor right mouse button allows me to interact with units at all.

I’ve figured out what’s going on: the hotkey configuration file for the game in that directory has been cleared and turned into a 0 KB file—located at C:\Users\username\Documents\StarCraft II\Accounts\somenumbers\Hotkeys. I’m not sure what caused this, but I recommend all players using non-default configurations back up this file.

Try using a wired mouse and keyboard

Did you already try wired keyboard and mouse, does the problem then occur? Sometimes it’s a graphic issue, which can be solved by setting display in the options to windowed full screen. Another issue might be when your in game resolution (options → display) does not match your desktop resolution, causing a disfunctioning mouse cursor.

Yes, I have tried, but it didn’t work. Using the laptop’s built-in touchpad also didn’t have any effect.

I have always been using windowed fullscreen. When searching online for the reason, I also tried changing to fullscreen display and restricting the mouse, but none of it worked.

The computer system is Windows 10

use an actual wired mouse and keyboard, not your touchpad,

Do you have any gaming overlay active / running in the background? Deactivate them and try again, if that solves the problem adjust the settings of the overlay.

you completely missed the point,Bro

no, you completely missed the point, if your bt keyboard mouse aint working and neither are the touchpad and laptop keyboard, you need to try a wired one. laptop keyboards and touchpads aint a usb wired keyboard and are on a completely different channel than usb.

I already mentioned in my earliest reply that I tried the wired keyboard and mouse you suggested. Trying the touchpad is an addition

well the way you wrote your ealier post it made it sound like that was your version of trying a wired mouse and keyboard.

have you tried to reinstall the game, seems like some files got corrupted or something. also you might want to check your windows settings for sc2 to see if maybe its locking the mouse input to something and getting things messed up.
