It’s been months since we have received any kinds of updates to Sc2’s map pool!
People have reached out to Blizzard over this, and discovered that 1.) there is still a team working on StarCraft 2, and 2.) they are reading these forums as well.
The best way to send feedback is from these forums. The EU forums already do have a thread regarding this, but the US forums don’t. Therefore, I am creating that thread here.
Yes, Blizzard, please: Update the map pool for SC2 and BW at least. The new tournament schedules mean there’s rarely a time without an SC2 tournament, so I think the community will need to bite the bullet and accept new maps or just only run on the old maps for the rest of a tourny
If you’re feeling really brave try out a balance patch or two
Every RTS game ends up dominated by 1 map, and variants of it.
That is what happens to all of them in the end.
SC2 has Cloud Kingdom, AoE2 has Arabia, SC1 has Lost Temple, Red Alert 2 has Bay of Pigs…
It is the natural consequence of the game being played for so long, and by so many players, that one map inevitably ends up being the actual game, first for the pro scene, and then the wider community.
To change the map pool would take absolutely zero effort. It’s intentional at this point. They could even hire volunteers to do it but again they aren’t
Reddit is bad, this place is bad and TL is bad; all for different reasons.
Reddit is extremely toxic and has the whole hivemind or get gatekept thing going on.
Here has way, way too many troll topics from the same people spaming over and over - and once in a blue moon; an over zealous mod (though that seems to have died with Blizzard’s reputation).
TL has moderators and admins so awful and rude it’s amazing that they’re still an affiliate. They really shouldn’t be one.
So not only do you not know how to read, you also do not know how to infer. There was nothing to infer. I don’t use Reddit, so how could I comment on how good or bad it is? Which part makes you think I said it’s fine? Please tell me. FYI if the confusion is this part:
That’s about the size i.e. how many members there are. Nothing about the quality of Reddit
