Starcraft II Update caught in a loop in Battle.net app

Been looking for an answer somewhere but haven’t had any luck. First, SC2 wouldn’t load from the Battle.net app. So I tried reinstalling SC2, nope. Then tried reinstalling Battle.net, nope. Then deleting the Agent folder, nope. Deleting the Battle.net folder, nope. Now the Battle.net app is stuck in a loop of updating SC2. It eventually crashes and gives an error message 9F4D28BB-D407-4AC8-95C8-7EAEDFD04B76.

Hey Blogwalda,

Sounds like something may be stuck with the install process, or there’s left over files that are corrupt and affecting the new install.

Try restarting your PC if you haven’t already and then start up the Battle.net app again to see if it will finish updating. If you have any anti-virus or firewall software running try temporarily disabling it, just to make sure something isn’t blocking the patch process.

If it’s still happening try this:

  1. In Windows 10 go to Start → Settings
  2. Click on Apps
  3. Uninstall the Battle.net app
  4. Press Windows key + R
  5. Type the following into the Run window and hit Enter: %APPDATA%
  6. Delete the Battle.net and Blizzard folders inside the appdata folder if they exist.
  7. Repeat steps 4-6 with %LOCALAPPDATA% and %PROGRAMDATA%

Now reinstall the Battle.net app:
