A week ago the game worked perfectly, but a friend was trying to install and having trouble, so to walk him through it I stupidly uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and now I’m having this problem.
I’ve tried just about everything to sort this out…
-34/64 bit mode in game settings, within battlenet
-compatability mode for windows 7/8
-updated GPU drivers.
-closed all background apps.
setting affinity to starcraft 2 in task manager
-1 deselected cpu core in task manager
-Support 64 version of sc2
-Tried to set power management to high instead of balanced on my laptop
Out of all the changes made, nothing seems to make it worse or better… I just don’t
even know what to try now.
I have a feeling its probably something pretty small, because it worked completely fine a week ago, so it is a mystery…
I had this issue along time ago on a 60 hz monitor and for some reason I had to play with those settings to fix it. Some sort of d-sync between the monitor and video card. Also make sure your card is at Maximum performance not power saving and turn off any tech that adjusts your CPU Core and GPU core/memory.
Reinstall your network drivers also. Could be a issue there if it only happens online.
What refresh rate is the screen? Did you try changing it?. If you have a monitor you might be able to try hooking one up to the laptop and see if the same thing happens.
Many laptops also thermal throttle pretty hardcore, some even all the time without firmware updates. If that is happening it could be causing a stutter every time the CPU changings frequency.
