I also had this problem and this fixed the issue for me. Can you explain why the Mac’s name would cause an issue? Seems very odd (I have a CS background if that helps)

The Mac rename issue was a problem that we found to happen for both Heroes of the Storm and StarCraft II clients. The problem seems to be related to the host name conflicting with the game engine. We’ve mostly seen this with clients with blank names or special characters, but it’s also happened with normal host name systems. It’s definitely odd, but our team is aware and working on a resolution! If you wanted the thread where the problem started and the resolution was found, here’s our Heroes of the Storm thread from some time ago.
