Man… I was just saying I wish they had a bigger team working on co-op, I guess they got pissed and did the opposite?
The only thing we can wait for now is bug fixes and balances once every half a year
I’ve been slowly losing interest in co-op for 2 months now, largely because of a new job and that grinding prestige isn’t something I have time for.
This announcement will simply make it easier for me to quit this game by the end of the year, if not earlier.
SC2 has had a good run and it’s time to move on.
Ah, so they wound up putting this mode to a close. I can only hope this means they’d make this a standalone game in the future. Blizzard would be an absolute fool not to pursue that.
To think that Prestige was the last thing we got for Coop…
At least I hope they work on the current prestiges. I’d like Artanis to be playable on the field. (Doubt it’ll happen.)
Does balance update include co-op balances? Many prestiges need to be revised.
I highly doubt they want to put any serious money into it. So I would guess it’s no. Just leave it for that one lone intern to manage. If we are lucky.
I think we all knew this was coming. Activision destroyed the Blizzard part of the business. Activision would rather focus all of its resources into a new Call of Duty every year.
After Warcraft Reforged… does anyone believe that Blizzard has been given any resources and funding to work with?
Activision has taken over completely.
They are closing down Blizzard offices in europe, reducing teams to a minimum for maximum profit, pushing away talent and putting more and more games on official “maintenance” mode (aka 1-2 people left to fix bugs every now and then).
You will say, they are doing this to reduce costs, yet the ironic of this all, is that they increase the fat bonus checks the big boys get.
Most of the talent Blizzard had, has moved on and I hope Mike Morhaime with his new company Dreamhaven, can recreate the Blizzard we all loved and cared about. Too bad he can’t take the IPs they created with him.
Starcraft 2 Coop has so much potential still, alas it wasn’t meant to last forever.
RIP Blizzard!
RIP coop, RIp Blizzard. I have been playing both Diablo 1 and starcraft 1 since release. Im old school gamer, I like games, which require some skills and effort from player and no, Im not interested in mobile games.
Activision is the devil.
Blizzard went from a company about the love of games, to one obsessed with microtransactions and loot boxes. Blizzard are a shell of their former self. All Activisions fault.
Dreamhaven will probably be the new Blizzard.
You can name this topic “End of Content” 'cause it’s not just commander that won’t be made.
They should have a $4.99 XP boost (no warchest). Nearly zero effort and there are plenty of us prestige junkies with limited time to play who are easily separated from our cash.
Have they released numbers on the playerbase for coop? I know at any given time the most I see on the N.A. server is about 180. Not sure how do translate that. Wild guess just a few thousand globally? But who knows, could be more than that in South Korea alone.
Really sad. I wanted to still get Tosh with his Spectres, Niadra with her Zerg using Protoss tech and Selendis for an Air focused Toss.
That’s the max for one channel. There are multiple channels when it overflows
ok good to know. i thought 180 seemed really low.
Good job Blizzard on killing another Classic which is still have a rather high active player base. Especially if you compare with other competitive games in the genre.
Activision wants every employee to be squeezed to the max so they can make the maximum amount of $.
They do not care about maintaining franchises and fan bases.
Its all about padding the fat cat checks and shareholders pockets.
As soon as the well has run dry they will scrap it and move on like parasites.
Well it was a blast while it lasted. I never going to forget when i first started playing the campaign missions. The mystery of the races, intriguing story, high polish. Usually when i played rts there was always something missing. Lacking great voice acting, monotone missions, not enough combat, so much build. With sc2 everything was nearly perfect.
It was always meant to end.
