Sc2 is a terribly balanced game

These people play for money. If Protoss was so advantaged, they would ALL SWITCH TO PROTOSS, as not doing so, would mean choosing career suicide.

The fact that the majority of people that make money, do not play Protoss, indicates that Protoss is weaker, not stronger, than the other 2 races.

I know this might be a foreign concept to you people but… have you ever heard of honor ? Of decency ? It’s the same for Maru, TY, Clem and others. They have
S E L F R E S P E C T
They’re not monkeys, dancing for money

These concepts have nothing to do with competitive gaming as a business model.

Like it or not, if Protoss was advantaged, all the people that have their livelihoods dependent on the game, would have switched to Protoss, because it would give them the best shot at earning cash prizes.

Because this does not happen, one can immediately deduce that Protoss are not advantaged, and are, in fact, disadvantaged in a competitive setting, where money is on the table.

I know economics and logic are not skills you need for MMM, but you should try to develop them, for the Real World, at least.

Neeb and Classic say HELLO!

Remove flash, Jaedong, Light and queen and Protoss has won way more. Only 0.001% of the player base being able to fight as equal == balance, nice logic there

Wow such protoss dominance there.

Conclusion: If you want to win the most money on average go play zerg. If you want to be in the middle play protoss. Do you want to whine instead of going full pro go terran (and still earn decently…very close to protoss)

EDIT: You can check the average earning per race per year at liquipedia net/starcraft2/Winnings/2019
And in most cases a certain swarmy race is leading

That’s what happens when you have a sea of kong Protoss. Last 6 IEM finals have all been ZvP and yet Protoss always chokes. That’s exactly what Batman was referencing! I however was giving examples of players that have switched races and have DOMINATED. Neeb goes from your ladder hero terran that does average at best in tournaments to earning half a million!

So? Who cares? Byun switched from protoss to terran and tlo from terran to zerg DRG from protoss to zerg.

Still doesnt matter to the bigger picture of zerg having the most earnings overall and protoss and terran are earning mostly the same.

How many time passed from his switch to the point he dominated?, the switch argument would make sense if the benefit was inmediate, but I’m not sure he started dominating fast, except right at the beginning of the game for obvious reasons, nobody has dominated from being just a ladder hero, every good player played for many time until they started dominating, for example,Serral was never a God, he was that ladder warrior.

The only thing that had the inmediate effect of earning more, was playing on NA before region lock.

And as aditional fun fact, Z was always the best race, for many years the only race that could beat top players from KR was Z.Stats were clear, playing Z was an advantage. Nowadays the gap is close and every race can beat the top KR players, even T, which was the worse race at dealing against them.

I promised myself to stop posting on here, but this is so monumentally stupid I just had to log in again. How can you with (what I am assuming to be) a straight face post these numbers? In case you haven’t realized, the matches played in 2017-18-19 were not played on the patch that came out at the end of 2020. Obviously zerg will have the most win money when they were generally agreed upon to be OP as hell for most of the game’s history. I’m not even agreeing with the OP, just wanted to clarify what a dumb thing it is to post these numbers.

So is SC2 terribly balanced or balanced terribly?

If you would have been able to read and understand you would have known that i was replying to thrasher and he replied to someone saying:

“Like it or not, if Protoss was advantaged, all the people that have their livelihoods dependent on the game, would have switched to Protoss, because it would give them the best shot at earning cash prizes.”

To which he replied:

“Neeb and Classic say HELLO!”

Which means he wanted to say that protoss was op WAY BEFORE the current patch.

In short: i wasnt replying to the op. I was replying to thrasher.
And now log off forever.

2014 he’s playing terran, being a ro32 gatekeeper and then in 2016 he’s the first foreigner to win a tournament on Korean soil.

Those numbers tell us that issues are not pattch-related. The narrative “Protoss is OP” is easily countered by the numbers provided.

So not instant, I’m reading liquipedia now and it says Neeb switched in Apr 2015, that Kespa tournament was almost 1,5 years later. Even Whinemarine said that if he had to switch races (to protoss) it would take a lot of time, at least one year, until he reached enough level to be competitive, it’s not as easy as changing races and start winning titles, there is effort and training behind the results.

you mean embarrassing.

Because he had only one TvP in entire playoff, and that was against Dns.
Most of the Protosses were taken out by Zergs.

As for group stage, Clem 0 2 GunGFuBanDa

PS. Also he got lucky that Serral was taken out via ZvZs
