SC2 does not launch

system: MacOS Catalina 10.15.7

After clicking on ‘Play’ in the battle.net app, its stuck on this state:
-It says ‘Game is running’
-small SC2 window with a loader appears, but it doesn’t go to the next step of actually launching the game fullscreen

I’ve tried:
-restarting computer
-re-installing battle.net
-checking for updates
-running scan and repair (no issues found)
-re-installing SC2
-changing computer name

I haven’t made any system updates. I started just randomly facing this issue since Tuesday 19th January, 2021

Same for me. Have been experiencing this in the past 2 days. Tried on 2 Windows 10 machines and 1 Mac Big Sur, same behavior.

It will show “Game is running.” with a loading window but gets stuck there. After maybe 30 minutes or more, game will launch. Also the game launches immediately if my internet is offline.

Same me. I dont know how to fix it. Someone who can help me???

Me either. Removing battle.net and sc2 doesn’t work for me.

Sounds like it isn’t an OS issue anymore.

Can you guys try with a VPN and see if it works?

I found a workaround for me based on [1][2]

Step 1. Launch Starcraft 2
Check SC2 is running but game window not shown yet.
Step 2. disable WIFI
Step 3. Wait for few mins
SC2 screen will pop in 2~3 mins(in my case)
Step 4. Turn on WIFI and enjoy playing
