And this is exactly what I suggest, scv scout after supply or pylon. You would always see the forge before it finishes.
I think alot of players don’t want to scout with their workers so early. I’m going to put this one to the ‘balance council’:
The tutorial doesn’t ask us to scout with a worker, only army units later on. Is it possible that the developers didn’t forsee players building structures in their enemies base? As an average player, scouting early on with Terran or Zerg feels bad, due to the shortage of workers.
Scouting is required for SC2 if you are playing a standard build. There is a high chance to lose the game if you don´t scout.
I think they should encouarge you to scout in the tutorial because it is fundamentalt for SC2. Make a custom game and play vs the AI and you will see it worker scout too. Terran and Protoss should always worker scout if you play a standard build.
It’s a little different with zerg where you can choose to scout with a drone or your overlord or your first zerglings. Most choose to scout with their overlord. But if you want to protect yourself against Cheese, consider scouting with your drone.
Here’s another suggestion: cancelled buildings return less minerals if they are damaged, as a percentage.
In code: Damage done to building / building total hp
With all due respect… why? It just adds needless code complexity which can introduce more bugs for something that makes little to no difference to the game.
A simple mathematical function isn’t going to break things, and it’s due to possible abuse cases gameplay-wise that I don’t want to go into.
guyzamiester >> what the purpose ?? If the case is you want to stop canon rusher you could simply suggest that building a forge require building a gateway first.
I’m trying to nerf cannon rush without nerfing the rest of Protoss. It should make sense that a damaged building returns less minerals.
You will not do anything with that change, as protoss building would always lose shields first. So it would technically stay at full HP for a very long time.
All I read was, “I don’t want to get better, everyone needs to get worse so I’m #1”.
Custom games are a thing. Find people that are like minded and stop complaining because you suck and are unable to improve and only focus on winning.
zedonius just a small correction, there not focused on “winning” the focused on “whining”
Not only would the change not actually be helpful vs Toss, it is just a bad change in general that effects all three races, not just Toss, and is just a generally unnecessary nerf that would have several sode effects throughout the game - especially on things like last minute cancels on building hatcheries, planetaries, defensive walls, spores and spines, ebay, hatch or pylon blocks and likely a host of other things that I haven’t even thought about.
I think in this case it is just excusing lazy code and resisting change. If you think about it, getting the same refund on a damaged building is a bit unfair, because in any other scenario (damaged building or unit) that unit then needs repaired.
Can you speak english please thank you. I couldn’t understand your blabbering.
Exactly !!!
Finally someone intelligent enough to understand what i was talking about. Most people on this forum literally don’t have brains.
Either you send worker very early on 13-14 supply and hurt your income
OR
send it later but then cannon rush will already have started and you have to react to it immediately. Hence we come to a conclusion, that it is impossible to scout cannon rush with NORMAL timing (17-19 supply).
In a traditional war you aren’t going to be able to make your buildings a mile away, I get why they implemented global resources, but these ladder dudes are just exploiting it for wins.
Canon Rush is one strategy of many strategies your opponent can use on you that requies you scout in time there is no other way around this and it is not a bug. The game is made this way. These kinds of strategies also called " Cheese". I don´t like Canon rush, but it is part of the game. You have to learn how to deal with it or you will keep losing games this way.
Until I explicitly see the original devs say, “we intended for players to make buildings in the enemies base”, I will continue to believe it is simply laziness.
Most of the original devs have left the company so I guees you never get some answer from them about this. But my point here is your opponent will “Cheese” you if you don´t scout in time they want to win and they don´t care what you and I think about which strategies they use to win
