Well, Overwatch 2 is basically DLC for Overwatch 1.
Maybe they’ll give us Tychus Mission Packs. With a high-off-his-kite Stet serving as the announcer.

Keep hoping. It’s all you can really do.
“Hope is a good thing. Maybe the best of things. And no good thing ever dies.” – Andy Dufresne, the Shawshank Redemption.
Sure. But you gotta draw the line somewhere. Right now it doesn’t look like we will see a sudden surge of co-op content and there isn’t a lot of reason to think the slow decrease of content will stop. Nobody says it’s impossible. Just doesn’t seem likely.
Time will tell, and I think Bliz is too business-savvy to discard one of their best and most respected franchises.
They’ll discard if it doesn’t make them enough money to be worth continuing.
We’ll reach that point eventually. Some say sooner, some say later. I think we’re a little past the middle of the early stages now.
Well, they discontinued Diablo 1 and still offer D2.
Starcraft got Remastered and a Cartoon version. Doesn’t seem like they’re giving up on the franchise.
Oh sure they’ll still sell it.
But do they actively develop content for D1 and 2? Nope.
Mind you, we’re talking about SC2 here. 1 actually is more popular in e-sports and not by a little, and with the remaster the balance has shifted further.
As for Starcrafts, not developed by them, they merely started selling Carbot’s style with his permission.
And exactly this is the problem. All other big publisher tried it and fell on their nose. It just divides the playerpool to much if you pay for maps. The only alternative I could see beside those Crowdfundings where even there you would have had beforeward something, would be paying maps so you can play them beside weekly muta and randommap. But this could be easily abused with playing with friends and the leader has the map.
I have an alternative idead.
How about bringing a map and at the same time bring a new announcer with a timed bundle where he cost twice as much but has a stim-pack too. If enough people buy this pack the CO-OP team works on another map this year fitting for those commander, if not enough the funds are empty for it and will be invested in StarCraft II elsewhere.
For example they bring a new map and with it Stukov Announcer. If enough people bought the 10€ bundle with Stukov and Stim-Pack, we will get another map, thematical (and mayby playstile) fitting for using Stukov with a special Stukov mission briefing. So they released a product already and we decide if we want now pay them to make another.
I personally think they should up the commander price to 8 dollars and include a mission themed around the commanders lore.
Would make the 1-15 journey more immersive
Not buying Mengsk and future commanders without a new mission, and I don’t care if they decide to make new missions paid content.
^^ This
I’m sure Sc2 won’t die out completely, but yeah, as mentioned by others, it’s been getting less and less support and content. Truth is RTS games have been on the decline over the past decade. OTOH, Sc is really amongst the few RTS out there (not even sure what else is competing with it)
Total War for playerbase and Age of Empires for nostalgia. Until everybody’s favorite me brings out his own RTS.
Can we also remove Cradle of Death? It was cute when it came out but now half my allies leave as soon as the game pops, and I do not blame them for this.
No. You may not remove cradle of death. Do you know how that map even came to be? It came out of the Rock The Cabinet event from 2017, and that mission was player made and made the grade above all others. You didn’t need to even make top to win, all of the top ten walked away with prizes. It was a great effort Blizzard made to bring the community into it and make more missions for us all.
And what flipping happens? People go “neeeeeerh I hate plz remove” even years laters. There are many reasons to why missions stopped coming, and one of them is that you ingrates are never happy.
Wrong. It’s bad design long term. Blizzard does this sort of thing themselves. It’s just not fun which is why people quit. Is that what you want, suffering? Then why do I care about you? This is the same reason BGs could be thumbs down in Wow. If you enjoy it play it, just don’t force that on others. Don’t get me wrong I thought the map was cool when it first came out, but not anymore. It’s so bad, that when you get it on brutal+ you only get 2 mutators. Every other map is 3 or 4! And they were easy mutators! Mutually assured and something else trivial.
So, your claim is that game is bad hence people quit.
That’s a subjective opinion, not fact. Everything gets boring eventually.
Now that is actually a fact. And if you don’t enjoy it then don’t force it on others.
Don’t ask them to remove content just because you personally think it’s bad.
Or do what others did and design your own map, maybe it will get added since you seem to know so much better than blizzard does.
The problem is, fun is subjective. Some people hate lock n load because it require partner and if he does not want you are slowed down if not even damned. I love this map because it is so relaxing. Same for Miner Evacuation. If you do not have a buddy who is rushing, you have enough times between taking out camps, taking care of enemies, doing boni if they are not in the exact opisite positions and reinforcing your army. It is only not fun for me if the first ship is not beside expo but I think they nerfed it so it is always beside the expo because it is just more fun.
Slight issue; the original Cradle of Death was incredibly creative and fun, Blizzard’s butchery of it is probably the least fun map in coop, losing everything that made the original map amazing (upgradable trucks chief among them).
Same deal with Part and Parcel honestly. I miss the original mech pilot, he was chill as hell, nothing like that Davis troglodyte.
I disagree, prove it.
