its scanning the game files but is stuck at 88% for over 6 hours and nothing has changed. the game was working a week ago but something happened and now it won’t work at all. it says there are files that are missing.
Hey nekoempire10,
I assume you received an error message about damaged files?
If so, make sure OneDrive is not syncing the Starcraft II folder inside your Documents folder.
See this article on how to sync/unsync specific folders:
thanks i will try this, but what if it doesn’t work? well i just turned off all my files for the OneDrive. and nothing was on it in the first place and now the game when it pops up to repair the game it doesn’t even scan or try to repair the file. some in just unsure of what the problem is. it just says that files are damaged.
you have 2 choices: either reinstall the entire game or fine out what file is damaged and then delete it, after which you try a new repair.
It’s possible that whichever files the scan and repair was trying to fix are irreparably damaged.
The first thing to try is to delete the “Starcraft II” folder in the Documents forlder. Then next time you log in, the game will create a new copy of the folder. Once logged in, give the game a few mins to download the new copy of the folder.
If that doesn’t work, you may need to uninstall the game and find any left over SC2 related files/folders and manually delete them (including the Starcarft II folder in Documents). Then reinstall the game fresh.
You can refer to this article for help with a full uninstall (under the advanced troubleshooting section).

so i’ve decided to uninstall the game and delete all files but i’ve run into a problem. i deleted pretty much all the files except this one file that is left that refuses to be deleted for some reason. it says the the files are still running and that i can’t delete them until they are closed but i can’t close them either.
Have you closed the battle.net launcher (blue icon) from the bottom bar on the right?
It may be hidden behind a ^ sign.
I’m asking because I wanted to say that if you can’t kill a running program, you can only restart the pc, but if it’s the launcher, and you checked the option “launch battle.net when i start my computer”, you would be losing your time for nothing (though it may still be easier to kill after a restart)
I agree with Undead. Make sure the launcher is closed (wait about 30 sec after closing it to give the background processes time to close), then try deleting those files again.
If it’s still saying that the files are in use: 1) make sure the launcher is not set to open when the computer starts, then 2) restart the computer. Then try deleting those files again.
Essentially, all games and the launcher need to be closed before deleting all those files. If you open any game/launcher, you’ll want to re-run through support article steps again to delete all the files/folders.
