I thought settings are supposed to be saved to the cloud.
Why is my hotkey profile (global and race specific) missing? Why are my graphics settings not saved?
Thanks

Hey nKarje,
All settings and hotkeys are saved locally to your machine in this location:
C:\Users\(user name)\Documents\Starcraft II
Hopefully you are able to get everything configured again. Apologies.
Thanks for your quick reply. I re-installed windows and formatted the disk, so there is no data in that location.
I thought hotkey settings etc are saved in the cloud, linked to my email login? If I make any changes to my hotkeys, the game tells me this is the case. Not sure why it’s saved locally then ?
hey, just a little bit of future info and something to think about doing. Have all your games store on seperate drive. Keep windows by itself and always keep the settings going to the game drive. Trust me it helps loads. I’ve had to reset windows alot in the past and got tired of loosing all my files and setting so for awhile now ive had multiple drive in every computer with only windows on its own drive and that i drive is specifically for windows updates and that poop while the other drive is all my downloads, games etc. Just some food for thought.
Good point, I do have 2 drives but was thinking of upgrading recently.
I’ve a 250GB SSD for windows and games, and a slower HDD for random files and movies etc. When I built my new PC a while ago, I kept the same memory from the previous PC. So this memory setup is quite old.
I put games on the SSD because I figure it’s faster than the mechanical drive. Plus I don’t need to wake up the HDD which makes noises.
Yeah, I’ll upgrade my memory in the next few days, 1TB looks quite cheap now.
I’ve spent some time getting the settings back to what they were in SC. Main race of zerg is mostly back to normal I think. Can’t get rapid fire to work for more than 1 spell, but I’ll figure it out.
Keep the 250 gb ssd for windows, and then get yourself another ssd ( but bigger) Like a 1tb or more for games. The 250 g will provide plenty of room for windows, windows updates, and some other various things that you download over time for the pc to run. Get the bigger ssd for games and things like that that way your speeds will be better for gaming. Keep the hdd for like movies and other things are arent frequently used so much, like pictures movies and things like that. If windows ever crashed your good to go for that and the rest wont get lost if it happens. ( trust me been there done that too many times).
