Ptr patch notes

It tracks everyones account private or not. ps you cant make your account totatly private, your info still shows.

Its fascinating watching an argument over a binary point where I don’t want either side to be right.

its fascinating to me that a person whos first time on the forums replys to my post acting like a said the 55% when i never did in the first place, yet will not go after the only person who has. its like hes got some person vendetta against me directly.

Read the Github and how the Battle.net api works.

But regardless the game died out and they have been trying revert it back closer to what is was when it didnt have such low players counts.

And people are interested to see if these changes improve it.

What’s been going on since LotV slowly shrank the player base. Reconsidering past patches have been the target of these recent patches. I might not play consistently but I never stopped following or loving SC2. Either way I’m excited to see big changes of any kind.

Also above you say you only play team games anyway, so a weird thing to try and flex that you are somehow more core to the game than others that played across all expansions of the game 1v1.

i got more skin in the game than you do bud with 20k games to my name

What rank are you 1v1 anyway. Curious after 20k games you must be GM by now?

Hell GM 2v2 is even easier, so you must be GM there too.

i dont play 1v1 bud, as i stated above. its boring, always has been to me. not enough going on to keep my attention

there is no gm bracket in teams.

shows how much you know the game right there.

Sorry then you must be master 2v2. My bad.

Also, you never played 1v1… ever? In 20k games?

i have played it and currently sitting at plat 1, but only a play a couple games a season when. as for my team ranks d2

So you maxed out at 1v1 platinum?

Oh sorry Diamond 2 for 2v2, after 20k games and a much, much smaller player pool.

I don’t think that gives you as much ā€œcredā€ as you think.

Experience is valuable if you can apply it. After 20K games, stuck in platinum and diamond isn’t a flex.

as of right now not trying on 1v1 yes i have a plat 1 ranking. as for 2v2 d3, and 3v3 where i do play im sitting at d2. and if you think its so easy to get a higher rank on teams please go try cause i guarantee it aint when you solo que and have to play with trolls and tker.

then again here you are with no rank and info whats so ever acting like your better than me, which is laughable. oh wait you quit playing the game along time ago cause you couldnt hack it.

ps. im also one of the original players who sat in line the day it came out, which is my bday btw.

No I played less and less because as I got older I had less and less free time, so I spent the time I did have with friends and significant others.

But even if I eventually moved on to other games and what not with my friends, SC2 has always had a special place in my heart which is why even today I still watch it daily.

And while you boast about playing 20k matches over 16 years, you still after all this time never could get past Diamond 2 in 2v2 and the best you could do was Plat in 1v1, yet with fewer than half the matches I was Masters in both without ever seriously pushing for it.

show your actual mmr and full history, cause showing two masters dont mean anything with out proof of mmr, and ladder history, considering theres a known border bug

ps you can see my full history on sc2 pulse, im the original poster in this forum and my second account is winterkn2

No, this is actually stupid. Both of you.

Agreed.

The math is still wrong and the patch notes are correct that it’s 35% faster production time not 55%. All the rest is such a waste of time, my contributions included.

Look, I’m sorry, but how old are you. Because if you have at least been to high school you should understand math better than this. All you are doing is showing that you don’t understand basic rate calculations.

We are talking about rates here, not total production time. A ā€œrateā€ is x/t, where ā€œxā€ is the number of actions, items produced, etc; and ā€œtā€ is time. Since we are using the time to produce 1 unit, that ā€œxā€ is always 1.

The per-warpgate production rate is 1/28, and the new production rate is 1/18. When you divide the new production rate by the old production rate: (1/18)/(1/28), you get 28/18, or 1.555555. That is the factor you are multiplying the production rate by when you are changing from a 28 second production time to an 18 second production time. To the get production boost/increase, you subtract 1 (or 100%), since you are looking at the boost over the current value. That is where the "55.555555…% comes from.

If math worked the way that you ā€œthinkā€ it does, it would be impossible to increase any rate by more than a factor of 2 (i.e. 100%), as you can’t reduce the build time by more than 100%.

The ā€œ1ā€ is the base production rate. Since we are talking about increases, you subtract the 1.

To speed up production time by ā€œ25%ā€, you need to multiply the production rate by 1.25. When you are comparing the production time, you divide the production time by that rate. The result is 100 / 1.25 = 80, not 75.

I’m sorry, but every single post you have made in this thread shows that you can’t understand basic rate calculations. You don’t know what a factor is, and you don’t know how rate calculations work.

The patch notes are ā€œWarpgate Research speeds up Gateway unit production time by 35%.ā€

It says production time right there.

still waiting for that ladder history and mmr

The phrase ā€œspeeds up production time byā€ means that they are increasing the rate dummy!

If that statement was correct, then dividing the old time (28) by the factor 1.35 would give you the new rate. 28 / 1.35 is 20.7, not 18.

The person who wrote the thread did the math wrong, and you don’t understand math well enough to see why it is wrong even when other people do the calculations right in front of your face.

The ā€œbuild timeā€ is reduced by about 35% (1 / 1.5555555 is 0.6428, and you subtract that from 1), but the thread wasn’t talking about the build time. Either way, the text in the patch notes needs to be changed.

  • ā€œreduce build time by 35%ā€
  • ā€œincrease production time/rate by 55%ā€
