Again: random people play differently

  • Claim: “Zeratuls cannons useless now”

  • Beating mutations (impossible to do with any army) using useless cannons, pairing with strongest defensive commanders in game (Swann, Karax)

  • “This prooves nothing”

…This is not lack of common sense or ego problems, this must be trolling. Clearly no reason to give any proof or evidence here.

I feel like this is the same discussion as should people be allowed to play brutal at level 1 that comes up in this forum every time a new commander gets released. Reality in the game shows that level 1 commanders on brutal are useless. But of course there are some people on this forum who can be trusted with level 1 commanders on brutal. Out of all players it’s just a very small number.

That has nothing to do with Zeratul being strong or not though, that’s just bads being bad.

Spamming cannons take ZERO skill, so OP’s experience doesn’t really come into play. The whole point is that a weaker player can use them to a similar effect, it needs no micro, etc.
This is doubly true if it’s not a solo but you have a teammate.

If a braindead easy low skill floor unit comp works as solo at 40 APM, then it WILL work for a bad player with a teammate helping out. So cannons are fine and viable.

You seem to be a bit socially awkward. When I wished you all the best that was a hint that the conversation is over, but I seem to need to be a bit more blant my slow friend. I hope you get it now :slight_smile:

Nice, but keep in mind that custom mutation does not equate to Brutal+. Brutal+ units are way more durable by default (without mutators). Brutal+ 6 even without mutators is fricking hard.

No, you cherry picked mutators that could be hard countered by cannons in order to be contrarian.

You created a strawman position of ‘there are no situations where cannons are useful’ and set about disproving it, and could not even do so in an intellectually honest way.

When people pointed this out, you immediately shifted the goalposts.

Honestly, all this, to me, just seems to prove that cannons are now religated to a niche role. Mind you, zeratul can still go mass dark templar and have a few dedicated AA units for ground based comps atleast, but there are some things I think are… Superfluous or off.

  • The only reason why this is brutal+10, if its called that, is because of the combination of mutators. Since this is a defensive map, minesweeper is effectively pointless unless people are concerned about the bonus objectives, meaning that at most, of the 27 points, 6 of them can be reasonably argued is just to inflate the score. That isn’t the main issue I have though…
  • The bigger issue I have is that I saw very early on and with some frequency that, with zeratul, APM spiked a little above APM. To say it’s below 40 APM may be a bit inaccurate, seeing a regular tic above 40 APM and even at one point 125(!). Did you mean below 40 Average APM?

Still, I suppose I can see that cannons can work in a mutation designed practically for them.

The fact that these otherwise incredibly dangerous and lethal mutators are hard countered by cannons is precisely the point. Normally this combination would be hell on earth for any army based commander.
