I would like to play SC2 on my secondary display rather than my primary display, but I seem to be unable to find the setting. Is there a way to accomplish this? Thanks!
you could reconfigure so that you are using your seconday display as your primary display. that will work.
Yeah I could, but that makes everything else awkward with my set up. Is there really not a setting for this in SC2? Even Warcraft III remastered has a setting for it.
Hey, Haisom! I don’t believe StarCraft II has a primary monitor option within the settings, but one way to work around this is with Windowed Fullscreen mode.
While in-game, go to Options > Graphics (Default), switch to Windowed mode first. Move the window over to the secondary monitor, then set it to Windowed Fullscreen. Fullscreen mode will use the primary monitor.
Warcraft III: Reforged is newer and the multimonitor set-up was taken into consideration since its much more common nowadays. When StarCraft II was released it wasn’t as common as it is today. why did i not think of that? guess i was not even aware that starcraft 2 supported windowed mode. it is a good solution though.
I had to double check myself, andreasasp!
Still appreciate the input! Some folks may prefer to have Fullscreen mode if they have a higher refresh rate so changing the primary monitor is a better option.
I agree with Halsom that it’s awkward to re-configure the primary screen when you want to play SC2.
There WAS an option to use an alternate monitor when playing SC2, but it HAS BEEN REMOVED. The only trouble was the screen resolution matched the primary monitor. You had to change the resolution to match your monitor.
Please put it back.
The work arounds of changing the primary display and using it in windowed mode are cumbersome.
When you change the primary display bloody windoze moves your desktop icons around.
Using windowed mode fullscreen on the other monitor is half a dozen or more steps through setup to change type , move it , change type again, and your mouse can STILL go outside the window.
My monitor setup is Primary : 4x3 VGA on built in intel for older games ; #2 16x9 HDMI on GTX 1050 for modern games (WoW, SC2 etc).
