I know I’m not the only one with this issue, but it seems like there is no working solution -
I continue to get “Not Available while Initializing Game Mode” problems when trying to play versus games in SC2. I also am unable to download new maps and get a download cache error when trying to do so. I have gone through all of the forums - I’ve tried to reinstall the game multiple times, I’ve deleted the cache in program files, I’ve unblocked SC2 from any and all firewalls/protective measures and have run the game and all applications in admin mode.
What is really odd is that the game works perfectly fine when run it in 64 bit and log into the KR region. I tried the Support 64 into US region but I run into the same issues as stated above, but the game is completely fine in the KR region. I tried switching back and forth as well, but it only runs in KR.
Anyone find anything that works?

Hey Jaedoo,
This is usually some kind of connection problem.
For example, there are some known issues with SEA connections can cause this error. Could you try an alternative connection or VPN to work around the issue? VPNs are not supported and not something we can provide recommendations for, but they can help reroute the connection. If a near by region isn’t working, try a different region.
We are gathering reports and information, if you could provide a WinMTR file until the problem occurs for 10 to 15 minutes? Copy and paste the text file created and paste it between two ~~~ like so:

I have the same problem with OP. Basically did everything I can find online. I even tried it even if it was a couple of years old. I notice that this isn’t an isolated case and I know you guys can figure this out.
Here’s a trace from SEA IP. I assume the hosts are the hops needed to connect to SEA IP.

Can you provide feedback to this post so we know if there is progress? We could be wasting our time doing other stuff than providing you things that lead to nothing. Thanks.
It looks like there is a steady bit of packet loss between the computer and the router/modem. If this is a wireless connection please be sure to try a wired ethernet connection instead. Alternatively, if this is already an ethernet connection I might also suggest replacing the cable or plugging into a different port on the modem or router.

I tried it again today and it seems that I got better results in WinMTR. Please see below. Packet loss from PC to Router is 0%, however I still get very slow progress when downloading the maps and cache.

I notice that when I connect to Southeast Asia using WinMTR I do not get as much packet loss as when I connect to Korea and Taiwan.
Korea and Taiwan - 222.231.22.1
Southeast Asia - 202.9.67.254
Is there a way to forcefully make SC2 connect to Southeast Asia and if that will that help?
