hi there. I just reinstalled sc 2 after not playing for a while and now it has no sound. ive looked through the forums and have seen others with the same problem but cant find a solution.
ive tried disabling voice chat and that doesn’t work. ive tried on my headphones and with my speakers and neither work.
in sc, for output audio it only allows me to choose default. so I looked in my system sound settings and it is set to the correct output for my speakers.
the sound works perfectly in all other games and youtube etc…
please can anyone help?

Hey there BattlePants,
Thanks for reaching out and giving us a chance to help here. There are two things that tend to be the cause of lacking sound in game like this.
The first is the game being muted in the Windows volume mixer. With the game Open, right click the
on the task bar and select Volume mixer. Locate the game and make sure it is not muted there.
Next, if that was not the cause, a sound program called Nahimic has been known to cause audio conflicts with the game. I would look for and uninstall this if it is there.
Please get back to me if these helped or not my friend!

I have Bose Bluetooth Headset and also the no sound issue. I have to mention that sounds stops working in all apps if SC2 runs.
To fix it I needed to disable the Bose Headset Hands-free Recording device in Windows->Sound->Recording option.
If I was not using the headset and using the laptop sound instead, the no-sound issue didn’t manifest.
I hope this helps.
