So I’ve tried many different Blizzard titles, SC2 is the only one that’s giving me a sound issue, HoTS works, Overwatch works, SC Classic works. I have settings on defaults, I get the first two little blips and the sound cuts out for the rest of the time the app is open, ON MY ENTIRE COMPUTER, this means the show/video I was watching on my second monitor, SC2 no longer produces sound, Spotify in the background no longer produces sound, nothing. I’ve tried allowing the app through the firewall, but nothing seems to help.
Exactly the same issue here!
The sound in the whole computer stops working just by getting in the game.
In my case just Spotify was on, I get to the game and the computer goes mute, once I quit the game the sound comes back working fine.
Hey there,
It sounds like the audio drivers may be crashing, or there is some kind of strange software conflict going on. Lets go ahead and grab a DxDiag so we can further investigate the problem. Here are the instructions:
- Press Windows Key + R.
- Type DxDiag and press Enter.
- In the DxDiag window, click Save All Information.
- Name the file “dxdiag” and click Save
- Once you have that made, open the file. You’ll need to copy and paste the contents of the Text document into a file sharing service. I normally recommend Pastebin. Once it’s uploaded on there, please post the link (ex: Pastebin (dot) com/123456).
So that gave me an idea, I ended up disabling the rest of the audio devices that I wasn’t using, and that seemed to work. I’m curious why this is the game that’s effected by this?
