There seems to be an arbitrary MMR limit for contender on NA, and there aren’t enough active players above it to fill out GM.
I’m sure there’s a reason for this, maybe you guys didn’t want anyone below 5.1 in GM, but it looks really bad have grandmaster with 175 people in it, and 5 people in contender (none of which are eligible for promotion due to games played).
I feel like it should fill out GM with the best players on the region, not lock it to an arbitrary MMR value.
To kind of exacerbate it, in 2018, you needed a whopping 5.4k mmr to be in the top 1% of players, but nowadays it’s around 5k. I wonder if the 5.1 limit is a holdover from days where MMRs were higher for that percentage of the population?
