A large number of original Blizzard maps are missing in Melee. The maps under the groups “Heart of the Swarm” and “Wings of Liberty” are missing. The group “Legacy of the Void” is the only group with maps. Please add back the missing maps. If by chance the maps have been updated with new names and locations, please let us know what they are. Thanks.
I am also not seeing ANY maps loading in Custom Melee mode. This has been happening for a couple of weeks now. I can play offline and see the maps I have used before because they’re stored locally, but I cannot load any maps from the server, even if I have the maps stored locally.
I get the error: “Map not found. It may have been removed”.

Yeah, I cannot see any of those maps either
same here, I came to write a complaint about this but can’t find a way to reach Blizzard directly, all old maps are missing.

It would be nice if Blizzard replied, even if it was just confirming the issue is being worked on.

I have the same issue and error message when I tried to load Blizzard Rooftop Terrace map, which I have played for the past 10 years, but it stopped working since this past weekend. What happen to this map?!

Blizzard rarely replies, regardless of whether they are currently working on an issue.
Another thing delaying them is that most of the Classic Games focus is on helping NetEase get SC2 up and running correctly in China again. So the few people they have are splitting their attention. I don’t know the inner workings of Classic Games but there will likely also be a demand to get SCR, WC3R, and HoTS up in the country too. Not sure if that will also take attention and resources away from dealing with this and the other recent bugs.

Same here, missing Blizzard maps for Heart of the Swarm and Wings of Liberty… it has been this way for at least a few days now.

For those custom Blizzard maps missing with “Map not found. File may have been removed” message.
I found a workaround if you want to give it a try. Instead of trying to open the map, right click and select the “play …offline”, then tailor the map setting to yours to play. Hope this helps you.

Nope, the problem still remain. I noticed that it seems to works on US servers, which makes the issue stranger ..
There was server maintenance today and a new patch.
Doesn’t look like this was addressed though.
Can blizzard make a statement on this? Will any of these maps come back?
Id like to know this too, I casually play against ai and it seems like now there is 100X less maps. what is blizzard thinking?
Blizzard just closed my support ticket as resolved without explanation.
All current maps are very similar. Miss the older maps like Tyrador Keep, Debris Field, Colony, Sand Canyon, Hunting ground, etc. All the current maps have very similar configuration. Been playing for over 20 years and am 72 years old and do not want to learn a new game!
I’d just like to add to this thread my disappointment in the removal of old maps. It used to be that when I went to the Custom → Melee tab I had hundreds of maps, every old ladder map was present. Now I have a very small selection of maps (only current ladder maps, it seems). I miss having so many choices. Surely this can’t be a difficult fix. Will try to keep this post alive by replying every month so it doesn’t auto-close.
This is still an issue here in January… However, I did find a workaround for playing the original maps that wings of liberty shipped with. Go into some chat group and message yourself this link.

This is the link to Agria Valley, from here you can replace 23 with anything between 24 and 83 to get the rest of the original blizzard maps. Bookmark all of them, then sort by your bookmarks and right click a map to create an offline game. You will now be able to play the map on your desired expansion level against ai. It’s not perfect, as we still can’t make online games or add mods, but at least you can play the game how you like again.
