I mean, Innovation at his prime would never beat Maru in the current state that TvT is in. The mass raven meta is just something Inno will never be better at. He could be up 2 bases in a mirror match up but if Maru maxes Inno will still lose, Maru’s current TvT is that absurd.

That’s completely ridiculous. Innovation clowned on Maru his whole career excluding when Maru made his debut in Code S by 4-0’ing innovation which is what put him on the map. He has the most spread-out performance of any SC2 pro. He has won major tournaments across a variety of patches. That’s not true for Maru. Innovation would clown on Maru in the current patch.

I’m not even going to talk about a period of SC2 I didn’t follow, but I’m telling you that even when Innovation has beaten Maru occasionally in recent time he looked really shakey. If you can read TvT, you’ll see what I mean by Maru being overwhelmingly dominant when he gets to his endgame army. To clarify as well, what Maru clowned Heromarine with is what Maru’s bad at in TvT.
Again, Innovation has had an 8 year long career of clowning on Maru and basically quit after 2018. Maru filled the void. Games post 2018 really don’t mean anything when Innovation’s play was bad in all matchups all the way around. He just wasn’t putting in any effort into the game anymore. He was just coasting at that point. Even with his coasting for the past 2 years, he still has a higher TvT win-rate than Maru.

It just feels like you’re coping here. I read somewhere that apparently around 2015 or so, Maru just stopped practicing SC2. I don’t remember when he started playing “for real” again, but I’ll just say it’s when he was winning 4 GSLs in a row, why not. Which is to say, Maru has always been the best Terran in the world whenever he tried.

Yeah, that lines up with the timeline of what I read. It would explain why he stopped trying. I’m not making this up either to be a dick to batz either, I could probably find the article again.
