Main Game Download

Is there a way to download SC2 without using battle.net on My home PC? I would like to use a fast download connection (Like at friends or the Library) to download the game to a USB thumb drive and then bring the game home to my PC. I have a slower connection and it may take forever to download the core game.

Thanks

Hey there,

This should be possible actually. You could fully download the game on a different PC, then go inside the main Starcraft II folder and copy the SC2Data folder to the USB thumb drive. This is where the bulk of the data is stored.

Take that to your home PC and then start the install for Starcraft II. When it gets to the stage of downloading the bulk of the data, pause the download and then copy the SC2Data folder into the new Starcraft II folder. Restart the Battle.net app and it should scan the data you copied in so you won’t have to download the full ~30GB.

Hope this helps!

I was hoping to avoid installing on another PC. I wanted to just take a chromebook over to somewhere with highspeed net. It would be handy if we could just download “core” files easily without having to install. Might have to find someone who will allow me to install the came on their system If that is my only option.
