[LATAM] "Not available while initializing game mode" - Can't play coop or Arcade!

I’m unable to play Co-Op or any arcade modes, as the play button is grayed out and displays the message “Not available while initializing game mode”. I’ve been playing for years, and while I’ve encountered this issue in the past, it would usually get fixed with a game restart. However, in this case I’ve tried absolutely everything and can’t seem to fix it. This issue started a few days ago

What I’ve tried:
-Performed all steps provided by Blizzard at this link.
-Waited over an hour with the game open.
-Restarted the game
-Restarted my computer
-Disabled all firewall and security software
-Restarted router, modem and switch, waiting 1 min before powering them up again.
-Scanned and repaired Starcraft 2 files.
-Ran both Battle.net and Starcraft 2 as admin
-Haven’t had any network issues with any other games or software. Also havent made any changes

OS: Windows 10, latest build
Nvidia drivers :446.14

Intel 9700k, Nvidia 2080ti, 16gb of ram

I am having the same issue on AMD CPU and Video card. So I think we can safely rule hardware as an issue here.

However I did just recently install a new Windows 10 update which I think is most likely the culprit here for Starcraft 2 not working.

Just to confirm, Did you install version 2004?

How to check: Open Settings, Go to Windows update, and Click view update history.

Same here, Thought it was a windows update thing since yesterday I did update to v2004, however after going back to the old version, I’m still facing the same issue. Still can’t play Arcade or any other mode ingame.

This is how my game looks like atm: https://ibb.co/DVT3BGS

Hey y’all,

We are investigating issues impacting Argentinian players at the moment. You can read about this on the forums here: Spanish and English. In the mean time, using a public DNS provider like Google or OpenDNS seems to help. You could also try testing another network like a mobile hotspot to see if there’s any change. Otherwise, we ask that you please remain patient while this is investigated.

Just FYI, Im from Uruguay and Im also unable to play. Hope you find a fix soon

Tried OpenDNS but still cant play.

I did not use a DNS solution.

I had a different issue with my ISP not too long ago. I tried out a free VPN it worked back then. So I tried out for Starcraft 2 and it worked. However there is a bit of lag and what not. So it is a not prefect solution but at least I can load the game properly.

An update on this, it seems to have auto-resolved without any changes from my end, I’m guessing there was a network issue somewhere along the way to the SC2 servers!

stupid developers broke the game.
Nobody can enter the game
