But you can’t have one without the other. If you’re going to play with fire, then you can’t cry about getting burn
Ironic. I was just stoking the fireplace. And I didn’t get burnt, because while it’s possible to get burnt, it’s something I am actively trying to avoid.
“The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his.”
—George S. Patton—
Yes, but the Protoss didn’t actively trying to avoid getting killed. I’ve already explained in a number of way, so mind if I don’t repeat it here?
Well, I don’t agree with your “explanation”, because death-seeking and willingness to sacrifice for a greater cause/good when you are ------ked anyway are not the same thing.
Sure they dont. Thats why they equip their zealots with power armor stronger than a marine suit and then, on top of that, universal plasma shields AND they recover their wounded from the battlefield. Because they dont care about the lives of their soldiers.
And you can add the usage of Interceptors or the fact they bust planets instead of landing when they deal with Infestation (most of the time).
And sentries, and the purifiers, and…
The fact that they havent literally completely replaced the templar caste doesnt mean they dont care about the lives of their warriors.
If two people gave two ten dollars, but one of them has million while the other only has eleven; is it the same thing to you?
I see. I still don’t see many reason from you why, though.
What even is your point?
My point is sure the Protoss did stuff to save their warrior’s life, but when you compare what they actually did to what they’re capable of, it’s not a lot.
If Protoss were truly craving for battle and death in battle, they would have engaged the Terran as soon as they arrived in Koprulu.
I know that’s why I thought they’re relatively peaceful. Apparently, I was wrong.
And Terrans would be as dead as monarchism in Czech republic.
Is it just me or is this lighting round is kind of confusing?
Its been enough to have them be uncontested masters of all territory they choose to claim until the zerg showed up. The Great War was the first war where the protoss suffered significant battlefield casualties in a loooong time.
To say nothing of the fact that they dont even deploy zealots against targets they want to utterly destroy, they just glass it from high orbit.
Not for me. I DOMINATE THIS.
Oh, you’re so wrong, Brother! I dominate this!
If they did more, it would border on being too defensive - for example warping away warriors prematurely even if they are not actually threatened.
Are you sure? I’m pretty certain that the Dragoon, which is a direct evidence of Protoss casualty, was existed in legion prior.
