Hello.
I am reaching out to get some assistance with out of nowhere two days ago ALL my blizzard games (Overwatch, SC2, HoTS) started to stutter while playing them. This issue doesn’t happen when i play any other games. (Game examples, ARK Survival Evolved, SubNautica, SubNautica: Below Zero, State of Decay 2 Juggernaut Edition, Dragons Dogma, No Mans Sky and Dying Light all at MAX SETTINGS NO ISSUE) I am not sure what to do. I have turned off all background programs, I have set the blizzard launcher to fully quit when i launch a game, I have made sure all my drivers are up to date I have made sure windows is up to day. Maybe someone here can help me? (had to remove the direct link because wouldnt let me, remove the space before .com to get the link)

Hey there,
This sounds like it may be more of a connection related issue rather than a performance stuttering issue. Overwatch, SC2, and HOTS will all be affected very badly by an unstable network or unstable connection between your game client and the server. Since it’s only affecting Blizzard games and those games are hosted in the same data center there may be something going on between your ISP and our servers.
Can you run a couple of WinMTRs and post the results so we can take a look at how the connection is performing specifically to the Blizzard data centers? These instructions will work for both SC2 and HOTS:
- Download WinMTR
- Right-click on the downloaded .zip folder and select “Extract All”, to extract the files to a new folder.
- Open the new WinMTR-v092 folder that was created, then open the WinMTR_x32 folder.
- Right-click on the WinMTR application and select “Run as administrator”.
- Launch the game and join a match. Once you’re loaded into the match press Ctrl+Alt+F to bring up the performance stats in the upper-left corner and note the server you are connected to.
- Quickly Alt+Tab out of the game and type the server IP address in the “Host” field.
Central - 24.105.62.129
West - 24.105.30.129
Australia - 103.4.114.233
Singapore - 202.9.67.59
Brazil - 54.207.104.145
- Click “Start” to begin the test then Alt+Tab back into the game. Allow the test to run for the full duration of the match, then click on “Stop” when you’re done playing.
- Click on “Export TEXT” to save the results as a text document, then post the results.
Ok, I did 2 test games. I was also able to fix a few of the errors that were showing in the report so here is the updated msinfo as well.

Thanks for the WinMTR data. It actually doesn’t look too bad. Latency is a bit on the higher side but there’s no substantial packet loss which is what would really cause stuttering like you’re describing.
Two more ideas for you to try:
- Download DDU here
- Click on the first link under “Announcements” titled Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU). Then click the “Official Download Here” link to start the download.
- Run the .exe file and extract the contents to the default location. Open the new folder and run the Display Driver Uninstaller.
- You will get a pop-up saying it is recommended to reboot in Safe Mode, feel free to ignore this if you are not familiar with how to get into Safe Mode. To start the removal process, click on “Clean and restart”
- Once the PC restarts, go ahead and download the standard Nvidia 445.78 hotfix driver: Error | NVIDIA
- Run the driver installer and use the default/recommended install steps.
Test the games again and see if that helps.
If not, lets take a look at HWmonitor and see if anything unusual stands out there. Play a match or two and then take screenshots of HWmonitor and post links to the images (use imgur.com or something similar to host them) so we can take a look.
I think I am having a very similar issue as you (in my case I play only SC2). If your PC’s hardware isn’t the issue, which is what I obviously suspect, then it’s likely that it’s related to the game and not to our PCs.
