How do I increase my refresh rate in my game settings?

Hello. My native monitor’s screen is 165hz, but I only get up to 144hz option in my SC2 in game settings. Is there a way to increase this? I plan on getting a higher refresh rate monitor soon as well. I read somewhere there is a text file that you can change so the 165hz will appear as an option or should I just set it to Default? Thank you for your help.

it could be a limit either in your hardware or in your cable.

If Default just means “do not override the system value”, then it’s what you’re looking for.
Otherwise, why not doing the opposite, and reduce your system refresh rate to the maximum value allowed by SC2 when you play?
For some people, supposedly being above 75 or 85Hz no longer make a difference, and since your target is 144Hz, it may really be the best setting for you and the game.

as i was trying to tell you: certain gpus have frequency limitations. take my gtx 770m for example: my cable supports 144 hz but, only when connected to a different pc. when connected to my toshiba laptop i get a maximum frequency of 120 hz. when however i connect to my acer desktop with rtx 2080 ti, then i get 144 hz. i do realise that my previous post was kind of short and i apologise for that. now: if i try a weaker cable, i get only 60 hz. therefore: depending on your gpu specs, there is limits to what frequency you can not in.
