Hell bats vs protoss instead of charge nerf

It’s confirmed MyOhMind is a unicorn killer. :frowning:

Unicorns don’t exist, so it’s hard to kill something that isn’t real in the first place.

Rhino’s are cool and should be protected because they actually exist.

That’s something a unicorn killer would say to justify their slaughter of a mythical creature. You monster!

I really want to see the replay of whoever the balance team talked to about the Observer nerfs losing his entire base and army to Observers. A unit that has no attacks.

Same. And the way that talking point was written in the balance notes…was someone drunk when they wrote that? I’m a little concerned…

Maybe they tried to kill an Observer by nuking their own army?. Instead of using EMP they clicked Nuke.

That’s some when cheese fails material right there lol.

Who wins?.

1 cloak boi vs an entire Terran army with multiple Orbitals.

Obviously the cloak boi wins. Ever faced mass Observer before? It’s overpowered and clearly needs a nerf…

Someone on the balance team clearly did, read over the reasoning they gave for the nerf and you can tell it’s personal FRUSTRATION over the Observer.

I can imagine them watching the WCS and getting mad at Protoss building Observers.

“Those overpowered Observers observing things”

Hellbats are garbage in TvP mech for the most part.

Mines are insanely good in any TvP style.

Most recent example is TY’s mech builds in this year ST2 and code s s3. Don’t think he made a single hellbat in any of them. Mines were widely used though.

Hellbat mech just gets slaughtered against Protoss at the highest level (key word highest level)

They are good in TvP Mech and would be even better in TvP if the Biological tag was removed from them so Archons can’t just roll over them.

Don’t think he made a single hellbat in any of them.

Maybe that’s a sign of how badly the Biological tag on Hellbats is hurting them in TvP?

Can you show me a pro level or high gm level game in which hellbats are used in tvp mech successfully?

I almost never see them used.

Only ones i recall are Maru’s battlemech vs stats where in the late game, he ended up transforming them into hellbats during hellion runbys, and the other some beastyqt stream game. In both cases the terran player lost

Because you almost never see TvP Mech.

Hellbats are used all the time in TvP Mech because Hellbats are your buffer units and if they fall(thanks to Archons doing bonus damage vs them), your comp falls.

Mech isn’t like Bio where you have mobility. Unless you go BattleMech which is a whole different beast that rarely uses hellbats because of the immobility they have.

No they are not.

If you run mass Hellbats by themselves they will be too easy to clean-up, but as a buffer for Tanks or Cyclones they work very well. They can also work as buffers for Thors, but that usually requires a much longer ranged unit like Tanks or Liberators to prevent kiting and Storms.

You don’t strictly have to make Hellbats. If you have enough firepower to destroy the enemy army before it gets close, then the Hellbats won’t have anything to do.

Gumiho also uses blue-flame Hellbats in his mech games against Protoss, against Stats, Classic and Dear in the GSL Super Tournament 1 earlier this year. TY actually used Hellbats in his game against Trap (I think?) during the GSL Super Tournament 2 - the one where people were complaining about his Battlecruisers and mech being overpowered against his Protoss opponent. The one where his Protoss opponent basically sent waves of Zealots to suicide themselves against Widow Mines, siege tanks and Hellbats guarding a Planetary Fortress, and then someone here made a whole tread about how mech was overpowered against Protoss.

Special and Innovation also made Hellbats in their mech builds during the GSL Code S season 2 this year.

Uhhh which mech games does gumiho use blue flame hellbats vs protoss? Ive seen all of gumiho’s gsl games and most of his olimo league games and I dont recall that.

TY didn’t play Trap in the super tournament. He played TY and Parting and that’s when the topic was made. I dont recall him using hellbats either…In any case it was widow mine heavy mech.

This is just wrong lol. It’s used extensively in the GSL

We’ve been through this discussion before lol

They are not good at the highest level. If youre using cyclones then you don’t even want to stand and fight in the first place. If youre using heavy tank/thor mech then mines and the strength of a maxed out mech army are better than hellbats.

Ok but in all the high level korean games hellbats are rarely used while mines are everywhere.

It’s used every once and a while. But not entire TvP series of it.

Gumiho and now TY have played almost entire GSL series’ using mech
