You do realize that posting from another account to circumvent a ban is a violation of the rules, right?
Pot calling the kettle black. You’re onto, what, 30? 40? I think it’s so funny how anytime Anesthetic is caught trolling, either Kelthar or Terranic show up to say “no I’ve talked to him on skype this guy definitely isn’t Anesthetic.” When was the last time Terranic, Cheezecake, madumlao, shonix, and dozens of your other alt accounts posted? Do you average 1 account a week? 2 per month?
You’re of no importance at all you donkey
Yes the lack of understanding of statistics is a failure of the modern education system. Studies show that 4 in 5 americans can’t answer simple questions about statistics (we’re talking the ABC’s). Statistics is unusually difficult for people to grasp for some reason and people like you and threads like this are a great example of that. Side note: If you think the government should be in charge of education I will kindly point you to this example (and many other numerous failures). Private education is 10000000000000000000000x better.
The vast majority of logical fallacies for example are statistical in nature. Hasty generalization, false cause, frequency illusion, base rate, conjunction fallacy, double counting, fallacy of division, false dilemma - the list goes on and on.
The base rate fallacy is in particular applicable to the modern day due to the mass testing of COVID:
An example of the base rate fallacy is the false positive paradox. This paradox describes situations where there are more false positive test results than true positives. For example, 50 of 1,000 people test positive for an infection, but only 10 have the infection, meaning 40 tests were false positives. The probability of a positive test result is determined not only by the accuracy of the test but also by the characteristics of the sampled population.[3] When the prevalence, the proportion of those who have a given condition, is lower than the test’s false positive rate, even tests that have a very low chance of giving a false positive in an individual case will give more false than true positives overall.[4] The paradox surprises most people.[5] It is especially counter-intuitive when interpreting a positive result in a test on a low-prevalence population after having dealt with positive results drawn from a high-prevalence population.[4] If the false positive rate of the test is higher than the proportion of the new population with the condition, then a test administrator whose experience has been drawn from testing in a high-prevalence population may conclude from experience that a positive test result usually indicates a positive subject, when in fact a false positive is far more likely to have occurred.
So what this is saying is even if a test has a very low probability of a false positive (ex: has a 1% false positive rate), it will USUALLY produce more false-positives than true-positives and therefore be low accuracy. That’s why doctors use multiple tests that work using different methods and fail for different reasons. They give you multiple tests to make sure you have cancer or whatever before declaring you have cancer. Now consider that the CDC has recently admitted their PCR test had a 40% accuracy at best. Translation: all their “omg omg covid is everywhere statistics” are extremely inflated by false positives.
Side note: It’s not clear whether the newsmedia distributes misleading information on purpose, or whether they are a bunch of complete nitwits who can’t understand simple statistics.
Side note: The reason people are so incredibly responsive to medical propaganda is because A) it’s highly statistical in nature and easy to mislead with and B) they take it seriously since it’s a health issue that can affect their well being.
Jesus Christ man, it took you two whole days to come up with a genuine response to that which amounted to calling everybody else on the internet besides yourself stupid.
Insecurity, thy name is batz.
Half of it he copypasted from wikipedia . Flagged the whole posts for spamming since it has nothing of added value (like all of his posts).
Only the top 1% can be as smart as the top 1%. That means there is 1 in the top 1% for every 99 people elswhere. That’s 99x more people in the bottom 99% than in the top 1%. Is this confusing? Then you might be in this category:
How’s that report abuse working about for you boss? The poor thing has to live with the reality that other people have not just different opinions but more informed and better researched opinions. It’s practically criminal! It must be REMOVED or it will hurt his fe fe’s.
Six days and it’s still up. Maybe you better create another alt account and flag it again?
Sooner or latter scumbags like you will go on a month-long vacation. Prepare a brand-new mail account in order to BS this forum afterwards.
He asked the same thing to me and I did gave him the same benefit of the doubt, essentialy what he asked me was like, given a set like A=[0,9] and asked what is the max(A) with a weird notation on pourpose to make me doubt that was a super simple question.
He literaly just watched the most recent Veritasium video that was released in the same day.
That’s how he “educate” himself, by youtube videos, he is a fraud that doesn’t know anything about math, he just google on the spot. How pathetic.
The video:
LOL funny enough that video also recently popped up on my recommendations. The amount of fraud behind this nut case is absolutely insane. Sometimes I get afraid to step outside knowing I could meet someone like him - just too crazy to reason with. I noticed you were arguing with him in another thread… He’s done this to many other people who don’t even have a serious interest in the game. Whenever he gets proven wrong, he just starts getting angry and throwing verbal insults left and right.
And then his delusion about being a 14 year old university graduate with a statistics degree… All a load of horse waste. When faced with people with actual degrees (or legitimate university level education), he completely falls apart. I don’t know why he is allowed to keep spamming the forums with nonsense. He is the equivalent of anti-vaxxers and flat-earthers - spreading dangerous misinformation left and right to meet their agenda.
To top it off, he keeps putting on this Mr. Tough Guy act constantly yet acts exactly like a feeble malnourished sitting duck sitting in front of a computer all day. He can’t read properly, he can’t write properly (we all know how many times he likes to edit his posts), and he can’t tie his thoughts together in a neat manner.
On a better note, I’m glad there’s enough reasonable amount of people around here to put down his posts. Otherwise, this place really would be an echo chamber for some of the worst humans of society.
Behold the conspiratorial mind of Battle.net forum nuts. Random videos published on youtube are their descriptors for completely unrelated events. Next you’re going to tell me that because you saw a raven before the stock market crash the raven caused the stock market crash. It’s no wonder you can’t have a conversation with these people. Their IQ is just too darn low. We’re talking Alex Jones, “the government is turning the frogs gay”, levels of sheer stupidity.
FYI there is a lot of buzz about not just this algorithm, but iterative algorithms in general. They are HIGHLY intertwined with the fundamentals of computer science and could answer a lot of open questions about many things including fluid dynamics. I WAS TALKING ABOUT MANY OF THESE PROBLEMS LONG BEFORE THE VERITASIUM VIDEO AND BEFORE MENTIONING THE 3X+1 EXAMPLE AND THAT IS A VERIFIABLE FACT BY BROWSING THE THREAD. Another example is the Mandelbrot set which is:
Zn+1 = Zn^2+c
Are you now going to go find a random youtube video, about the mandelbrot set, published around the time of this post to fit your conspiratorial world views? Please, entertain me with the sheer magnitude of your stupidity.
I just watched the video. Thanks for that. What a fantastic example of what I am talking about. They approach that problem in the complete wrong manner. It’s amazing that mathematicians get paid to do such bad work. Basically they need to find a mapping between a number and the number of times the algorithm has to iterate to reach 1 for that number. Then they prove that this mapping is true for all integers. Then they can show that no input to this mapping can produce an infinite output. A bunch of braindead mongols are being produced by today’s universities. What a total rip off. You go into those places and come out dumber and poorer.
What are you trying to say with that?

This is what the term means according to the dictionary itself.
You’ve linked Veritasium before, I remembet that was super funny that I watched the video that was recently released and you posted it trying to support a point you were trying to make that completely backfired on you. I know you are a big fan, so am I that’s how I know all that.
Why you are so mad to all caps that? I researched “collatz”, “3x+1” and “3n+1” in this forum and nothing shows, if you can be nice enough to quote it? It’s your chance to not be seen as a compulsive liar that you are, at least this time.
First of all you got the video all wrong and made me burst of laughing for a sec. Second, you just called people like Terence Tao “brainded mongol”. And third, we are all waiting for you, megamind of the starcraft2 forum, to prove the conjecture.
