Is this really necessary? I am a terran player and I think it is too much. I am playing tvt, and this crappyass Terran player just masses BC. I am killing his main, and he just blinks into my main, then blinks back. Creating an unfair advantage. I say get rid of it.
At a bare minimum require vision of the target location, even better do that plus add a casting range or allow the bc to be target-able while teleporting.
So you know he was going mass BC and you didn’t have time to make anti-air? Also tac jump has a cooldown. Its a long cooldown. The heck was built in his main to make it so hard to kill for THAT long? Were you using 8 0-0 marines and a medivac? Be honest.
Tactical Jump is annoying and it should be nerfed. It’s stupid to play against and it’s stupid to watch. Should either require research and/or tied cool down with Yamato. Being able to move command to kill everything in your bases then Yamato key units then jump away with no real risk is plain unfair.
I understand making the Battlecruiser a powerful unit for it’s cost, but it’s powerful in a boring way: Harass, pick off a unit then jump away.
Tactical jump is surely in need to go but so is Nydus with that incredible cheap cost.
For people crying about bcs, special said they are bad… So just l2p. Watch serral how he deals with them…
Blink is for tossers.
Terran units don’t have blink.
The one thing I don’t like is just how they can blink away from areas. Instant teleport.
I just think they should have a moment of vulnerability, much like recall, when trying to escape. You’d still be able to use tac jump to get away, but you’d just have to have more awareness of the surroundings of the BC, because if you waited for enemy units to arrive before the jump, you’d take a lot of damage, and maybe lose BCs.
You also wouldn’t be able to jump to the other side of the map at like 10 hp.
I think BCs are fine.
Either it’s 2-1-1 or you go mass queens.
I don’t want terrans to only have 1-2 viable builds because this way, people learn to think - especially terrans themselves.
I didn’t like widow mines at the beginning either but you learn how to deal with them and terran needs the mines or they can’t trade vs. mass ling/bane/muta or protoss early game or mass zealots.
I killed his main fairly easy/fast. BUt he floated a lot away. I didn’t have vikes to kill the buildings that floated away. I did have a few liberators, but he teleported back and took those out.
I think that would be a good nerf. I noticed in pro matches, if you yamato first, then tack jump, neural parasite is removed. Making them invincible to infestors.
Being bad doesn’t mean it’s fair to keep in the game. It might be bad in the top 1% but it’s not so good for the rest of the 99%.
And its not fine on the pro level either lol there have been so many upsets caused by bcs. In fact didnt special recently go 3-0 with bcs? Guess they arent that bad after all!
Yes. Because everyone is as good as serral and can pull off 300 EPM per minute
i agree and im terran and i think the tactical jump isnt so much op as it is inappropriate for an “rts” game. and yes its annoying to play against, they should replace it with something else, maybe the shield ability from the campaign.
Same. People try to compare it to recall to make it alright but if recall pisses you off then this should too. Pretty silly that people will argue for making the game worse and less fun just for ladder points.
Also a terran player, I think BC “blink” has actually made a big difference in making the unit viable in the late game. But personally I think it should be a fusion core upgrade. BC openings are silly. I would rather see BC’s as a late game unit with a long tech path.
Its just a little bit silly that players can teleport a battlecruiser across the map a few minutes into a match. To me it doesn’t match the aesthetics of the unit.
Edit: and I also wouldn’t be opposed to more nerfs as well, such as a limited teleportation range, or other suggestions. I just think at the bare minimum it should be an upgrade
yeah recall also pisses me off, maybe it should be replaced with a different spell like something allot like the terran supply drop or something(just an idea)
I like tactical jump. I would change it so that there is a short delay after casting it before the BC leaves, at most 1 second, so it takes a bit more skill and added risk to use it as a last second escape.
