It looks like people are getting bored with Turtlecraft 2. Time to bring back game ending moments so that there are actually ways to actually win the game. Artificially prolonging the game is the wrong way to make games longer. Games should go long when both players are playing well. Games should not go long when one player is being radically outplayed at every waking moment. When the game is designed to stalemate regardless of how the players play, it is bad design.
Pro scene suffers from zerg infestation, making it stale and boring.
BliZvZard forgot about Zergcraft because now lowered non zerg player interest. For them, this is dying game once numbers go down a bit. Which they did because of disastrous state of balance last year.
The plummet happened after zerg was nerfed, not before. If zerg was OP and the new patch restored equilibrium, we’d have seen an increase in post patch play.
The siege tank and liberator are the biggest issues. They are simply far too powerful when defensive that it is suicide to ever attack a terran player. The orbital and its ability to lift, and mules, also contribute, because a terran isn’t committed to defending a base.
Pretty sure its just because its the beginning of the season
Like last season the peak was around 400k which is higher than previous ones, but the beginning of that season also looked like the current one
It will go up to 300k atleast this season as well, but yea its not accurate because it counts people who just played their placement matches and nothing else
Also the season start was horrendous with the bugs so a lot of people probably turned away from ladder because of that for weeks
But that’s Disk’s utopia. Get outplayed into disruptor wars. As long as a man can make a single disruptor, should he really not be victorious? If you got a problem with it, take it up with him.
The patch broke the game. Literally. And on top of that, you had several key changes which probably made people take a break.
Like 80% of the changes to Protoss. I mean if you main Protoss and never picked up another race, you’re screwed this patch. You either open blink or you cheese. Nothing else is really viable.
Nope, assuming that’s correct, it’s probably because 2019 was a pretty crappy year for sc2 balance. It started out okay and slowly progressed into this awful game state.
It’s like someone put DK back in charge because these kind of changes are the kind of tone deaf crap he’d pull.
That’s a load of bull and you know it lol. Balance effects every league and there are a great many examples of that in the last 8 years of StarCraft 2. Or did Infested Terrans not get used in essentially every league?
What on earth do you mean by stalemate? Draws are super rare in sc2. Especially in LotV.
Even top professionals like Serral will take 30+ minutes to finish off an opponent who is lightyears behind. Do you think gold league terrans are any worse at sieging tanks than heromarine? It takes zero skill to do, so anyone can do it, and it makes it suicide to ever attack into a terran. You MUST wait for him to unsiege and move out, which he is not obligated to do. He can just sit there for hours if he wants to. This is far more impactful than balance ever has been.
Are you seriously whinging about a turtle player? The reason why smart players take 30 minutes to kill a turtle is because the answer to a turtle on a map pool this large/bad, the answer is to get greedy and out macro them.
The only thing that’s changed is Blizzard’s terrible map pools that promote it more than usual.
