Started SC2 about 20 min ago and it ran the latest patch (4.12.1.80188).
Now I can’t play the game - I keep getting the following error:
Game client version mismatch with selected region. You may be able to continue playing if you exit the client, patch from the launcher, and restart.
As far as I can tell, it has been patched appropriately for all regions. I can play in the Americas, I cannot play in Europe (where all my friends are).
I have:
- Restarted the app
- Restarted my computer
- Deleted the Blizzard Entertainment folder, and…
- Deleted the b-net folder, restarted, and relocated the game as per the instructions here: /support.activision /articles/deleting-old-files-from-playstation-4-and-xbox-one-consoles
And it’s still not working.
Thoughts?
I assume you play on EU?
Same problem here. You can still play on US if you’re really itching for it. I assume there’s some kind of problems with EU servers currently.
Myself I’m trying a Scan & Repair just incase that helps. Wouldn’t worry too much about it unless it persists until tomorrow (well, later today) however.
EDIT: Scan & Repair yielded no results.
I’m guessing the European servers simply haven’t been updated with the new update yet, and so your client version no longer matches the server version of the game after you’ve updated. If so, this should resolve soon.

I notice there are others here with a similar issue so it’s possible that you are correct in assuming there is a problem with EU servers or patching.
I’ll just wait it out and flounder in America for a while 
Yeah same issue. Doing placements in the US instead.
Same Problem here. Seems like EU servers are not updated yet unlike US servers but the update was already pushed to all clients. RIP EU.
