Zerg has the hardest time in GM. I’ve stated this more than once (though, it’s not as bad as it looks at a glance because they’re a low % of the total population).
Terran has the hardest time everywhere else (as reflected by the same metric applied to other leagues).
Except the skill prrdictors like apm etc say these terrans are in the proper place. Gm however has protoss with average apm lower than masters 2 zergs.
It’s tge same measurement method used in a range of scientific studies; a good example is cephied variables in astronomy which establish the distance of a galaxy by a correlation between brightness and pulsation period.
Protoss are lower in every skill metric for the same performance level, which is equivalent to saying less skilled players are achieving the same ranking as more skilled players. The only underpowered race is zerg with 1/2 as many players in gm as protoss.
The only zergs capable of getting gm rn are the ones who have stellar winrates in ZvT and ZvZ to offset the bonkers advantage protoss has in PvZ. PvZ becomes your most common matchup, so not only are you disadvantaged but that becomes the most common opponent. I have a 70% winrate vs t and a 60% vs zerg and a 50 vs protoss, lmfao, and this common in grandmaster.
In gm I am playing vs toss players who accidentally click their armies into spores. I posted a video of one. Gm protoss loses like 8 phoenix for free. Another one, totally different player, rallied his first carrier into spores and let it die. These guys are the people giving me and other gm zergs, gms with 70% winrates in other matchups, they are giving us 50% winrates.
If an APEtoss doesn’t win iem, now, with the insane advantage they have, they will never win one. Serral will keep dunking on them as long as the tournament cash keeps flowing. It was actually SC2 that made me realize how insane DEI initiatives are. They are going to mandate protoss to win 1/3rd of premier tournaments and as a result delete zerg at every level below that, and you can use that as a model to predict what DEI initiatives will do to the workplace and economy at large. Are you ready for people who misclick their phoenix into spores to be the ones flying airplanes? Yikes. Any company that supports DEI is a company I boycott because their priority isn’t to do a good job. The sc2 ladder is a small manifestation of a greater cultural experiment. They are experimenting with communism and we are witnessing in real time how incredibly destructive the ideology is.

No, not at all. You know what? I loaded up the good old starcraft and played terran. I didnt know any builds except obviously that cyclones are busted.
A 3k terran player is a 5kish player in disguise because of the patch from the (im)balance council.
What happend?
I got the weakest matchup of terran (tvt). A 4.3k Terran. Oh snap. I actually dont know the build order. I got hardcountered. I got blasted. I lost 13 scvs to a 2 rax proxy reaper rush. Obviously every race would just lose. But not terran! Anyway…i build some cyclones and i won. (That basically means im a better terran than bourne or you but we will never tell them, because it would embarrass you two

Any 3k terran is now basically a 5k terran. Can we quit whining now? Can we agree on the most obvious? Terran is now completly busted because they have an a move unit that basically counters everything and shreds through workers like nothing.

→ at least 65 apm

A guy named akrij was hardstuck diamond at 3k mmr for about 4 years but everything changed when the (im)balance team attacked.
He got straight to 5.2k mmr.

It may well be that there’s an insanely easy to pull off build that maximizes your MMR. If I find it credible, I’ll say so.
But if you notice, I don’t just dismiss something like this out of hand. You know, how you do with literally anything I say. Hell, you even do it with metrics YOU post, if you miscalculate and they disagree with you.

I would agree with you. Wholeheartly. If you would state anything that would make sense at all. There are multiple guys here that strongly disagreed with almost everything you state, since what you are saying doesnt sound reasonable to anyone.
For example i agreed with you that bio terran is the hardest to get to top pro level. I have stated that multiple times. But it would be very wrong to assume this is the reason why terran is 50% silver and bronze.
It is basically like when proxy void ray or nydus were completly broken. But worse, because it hits way sooner, with way less counter measurements and you need way less micro.
This should be getting fixed. Hopefully soon. Everyone in the community knew that the cyclone rework would destroy lower level. But the pros still went on with it. This is the result. To wheasypeasy i posted my own result of an “akrij” build. Instantly destroying a 4,3k terran player despite me getting hard countered and me not knowing exactly the build order. Im basically masters terran now
I blame the propaganda machine. Winter posted a video where it’s 7 marines vs a mothership and the comment section is filled with posts flaming how bad the unit is and how it’s still -300 -300. In reality the mothership is now potentially the best spellcaster in the game. You can thank Harstem for that.
